Just came from the grocery and it was packed.  Everyone was nice, friendly and smiling.

I even ran, literally, (bumped carts) into two butch queens in the aisle. We said "sorry" at the same time and giggled at each other.

Ah, the sense of community!   ;D

I wonder if I will see them at the after game party?  ;D

I came home from the club for a break before returning to set up for the SB party.  I never want to see another chicken wing or boiled egg again.  Free food will certainly bring out all the weirdos.  I'm volunteering so at least I'll have a beverage while doing so.

OK, I succumbed and decided to whip up something minimal at the last minute for a Super Bowl party -- I've invited some neighborhood drug dealers over.

I have five beers, 2/3 bottle of top shelf vodka, 1/3 bottle of similar bourbon, and a small cheap bottle of brandy better suited for cooking steak au poivre.

... and three half-used bottles of poppers

Just my luck I grew up in the Bronx, NY as a Jets and Mets fan.  I could have walked to Yankee stadium as a boy but the teams at Shea were far more colorful and I became a fan.  So I also don't like Boston or Philadelphia teams (though they do have great fans, pretty tough and nasty as well,  I must say) and I'll root for the Giants as some friends will be happy.

The hype is insane nowadays.  When the Jets became the first old AFL team to win the Super Bowl in 1969 it forced the merger of the old AFL into the NFL.  Anyway Madonna plays at halftime as someone mentioned. so that will bring in fans, as if the game needs them!

for a woman well into her 50s it wasn't that bad, but that close up of her face was a little scary tho on my 60' flat screen  ;D

That's why I said it wasn't "that" bad, but you could watch her counting her steps to do her "crotch flip" with the four white clad guys on the bleachers.  It was almost like a scene from a movie about the Arthur Murray dance studio as done by Kubrick.  The face was another thing entirely and I'm still trying to figure out who she actually looks like.   ::)

Horrible!!!  ;D

I'm sorry Madonna fans, but that was hard to watch.  Poor thing.  She lip sync'd the whole thing and just appeared to be akward the whole time.

On a side note. Those damn New Jersey Giants.  I lost $100

I know.  Thats why you don't bet more than you are willing to lose.  I did do pretty good on my fantasy football league though and won some money there so it was basically a wash.  Its all in good fun.
