Very concerned -- what is my risk of infection?

I am concerned about two events (technically three, but two are identical).

1.  About two and a half years ago I fingered a woman who had had multiple casual partners before me.  After doing this for at least ten minutes, I withdrew my index finger to find it covered with blood.  I distinctly remember being worried about cracked skin and a hangnail that was probably torn during the incident.  I did get tested for multiple STDs soon thereafter (all negative), but I am pretty sure it was much less than six weeks after the event. 

2/3.  About 2 weeks ago I received protected oral sex on two separate occasions from two different high-risk women.  In one of the cases, the condom initially only covered the top half of my penis.  I had to help her roll it down after a few minutes.  In both cases, I did not wash up for at least an hour afterwards.

Obviously my concern about these recent events have stirred up fear about the first incident from a few years ago.  I am especially concerned that I may have been infected 2+ years ago, explaining the concentration and memory problems I have had over the last year.  I only read about the link between memory and HIV in the last week, so the symptoms definitely existed much before and until now have been written off by doctors as "stress". 

Aside from the memory issues, my recent symptoms (in the last few days) have been a runny nose, frequent urination, and, just yesterday, I woke up from an afternoon nap in a very heavy sweat.

What are my odds going into an HIV test?  Do I really need to wait 3 months to get tested for the recent exposures?  A private company offers an early detection test--is this worth it?

1. Fingering is not a risk
2. Oral sex is not a risk of contracting HIV.

Nothing you brought to this forum is a risk of contracting HIV. You do not need testing for HIV.

Thanks for the rapid response. 

When you say "not a risk" do you mean (1) extremely unlikely, (2) that it has not been proven conclusively to be a method of transmission, (3) or that it is medically impossible?  If you have a few minutes, could you also let me know why?

It means just what is says. NO RISK.. Had I thought you were at risk I would have told you.

I'll just chime in to affirm what Rod has told you. Neither of your concerns are in anyway risks for HIV transmission.

The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Period. Use condoms consistently for those activities and you will not be at risk sexually.

I hope it is understandable that I went ahead with a full panel STD test.  I realize that I was not at risk for HIV given what I reported, but the mind always wants reassurance in case something happened that one doesn't remember.  Plus I have read that other STDs can be transmitted orally, even when a condom is used.

Anyway, my follow-up question:  is a negative HIV PCR test (DNA, not RNA) considered reliable nine days after an exposure?  (I know that a positive result has a decent likelihood of being incorrect.)

No and there is no need to discuss testing you never had a risk.

If you had had a real risk a test at 9 days would not be sufficient. But nothing you are reporting put you at risk so no testing was necessary. You are worrying needlessly and no further testing is necessary.
