Positive hemoglobin in urine test.
« on: October 06, 2008, 03:51:29 pm »
My boyfriend got back his urine test , and it says positive hemoglobin in urine.
What could that mean? . His viral load is 49 thousand and ct4 count is 501 and he is not on medication.
Could it be hepatitis or tuberculosis, or its pretty normal for a person with hiv?.
WE have an appointment to see his doctor next monday.
Thanks for he answers.

Hopefully, when he goes to his doc, he'll be asked to be retested. This happened to me not long ago. Upon retest, it was nothing. My doc figures it could have been a small abrasion of some sort, small stone, she really didn't have anything to pin it on. I was completely asymptomatic--it was picked up on a routine blood panel by the NIH. Don't get too worried until another set is run. I'm assuming that will occur.
