I took your word for it and suffered all the way through... Here I was thinking this was the before video of her and at the end it would show an after "cocaine" video of her all strung out. After watching the video in it's entirety I was hoping for a morgue shot at least!

That reminds me of this time my friend I decided to do "The Dark Side of OZ" thing with Ingmar Bergman's film The Seventh Seal and ABBA Gold.

It worked surprisingly well. When Death came on screen they sang "gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight." And when they're burning the witch it's "Waterloo, couldn't escape if I wanted to."

We liked the mix of Swedish existentialist film and Swedish pop... and two bottles of wine might have had something to do with it. But we were proud of it. We called it "The ABBA Seal."

I hesitated a little while before writing this, but then I said "what the helll!" It is a part of my past that I am not ashamed of and never will 'cause I was very young --- and stupid like most youngsters at that time anyway!
Aupoint, you will never know how much this topic has touched my heart! The year was 1982 and I was going to school in Rome. The place we would all hang out to start "la serata" was invariably near The Pantheon (at Giolitti's, for example) and /or at Piazza Navona in one of the bars where we'd find someone to pay us some drinks.
Now, the place where myself, Heather, Jeff and Stephen (dancers) would go after The Pantheon was either "L'Angelo Azzurro" or especially at "L'Alibi"! This disco was (still is, by the way) the place...per andare a ballare in Rome back then!
By the way, most of the time Heather would show up for half an hour and would disappear just as fast as she arrived!
Heather was a star in the whole country, but she never really played that card. She was the star of a show at La Rai 1(Italian TV) every Saturday night. And in just about five years she became immensely rich and bought a mansion at Via Appia Antica! This being, of course, the place to live in the Eternal City if you can afford it, that is!
However, All we wanted back then was to have fun! I remember vividly one night at L'Alibi that she spent the whole night chatting with just about anyone, dancing and sniffing ""only"" poppers!

As for Jeff and Stephen, that's a different story. I was dating Jeff at the time and could tell you a lot of stories about...my Roman years!
I could go on and on and tell you the parties at ""Il Bucco"" beach where all this crowd would spend their Sundays afternoon! ""Il Bucco"" is the gay beach at Ostia Lido, near Rome.
Oh my God, all of a sudden I feel again like ..."un bambino" come direbbe Alex (Allopathic...) and old! Good times those were! Loved every single minute of it! (Le sigh

Val... I've since learned that this is part of a genre called Italo Disco... and having downloaded some of it... I am forced to say that I like it. A lot.

And no one can say anything, because I've kicked ass in pits at Casualities' shows.

But the video is really something else... something horrifying. I'm sure it's not Heather Parisi's fault... probably some producer's...

But I am glad that this obscure bit of Euromusic has brought you some happiness!

Hell, in 20 years, I can see some upstart faggot saying, "This crap was put out by someone named 'Miss Kitten,'" and I'll get all misty eyed with memories of running around all coked up on the subway in NY.

I agree a 100% witcha, baby! It is terrible. But, then again, Heather was doing all of what she was doing just for the cash!

You should have seen some of the choreography of her shows! It was kitsch to the extremes...
That was a time all over Rome that the young folks would qualify as "una vita spensierata" i.e. carefree! ""Spensierata and spericolata""! And when I look back to those days I'd rather smile, for it was so effing funny and sublime! Funny and carefree! Funny and like there would be no tomorrow...!
Another VIP that we would meet --- on rare occasions, though, for he really was a mega-star in Italy --- was Gore Vidal! But, since Heather knew him it was kinda easy for all of her clique (me included) to get in!
The very first time I went to a oh so fabulous and oh so famous party at his apartment --- he lived at Largo Argentina nearby Monte Caprino aka Il Campidoglio, and the place we would all go for a quicky in the park --- I can vaguely remember some details! One thing that I do remember for sure, though, is that I dressed up like I was going to see an Opera, and woke up naked in an apartment where I didn't know either the owner or the address...!

The only thing that I remember from this Italian stallion that I met at Gore's place was that he was hung like a horse and I blew it! Just couldn't take it! $:-\$ I never really liked bottoming anyway...!
Gore Vidal was a true gentleman! He became something like a father figure for most of us even though he was not aware of it back then. I still have somewhere a book he gave me at one of these parties --- Mira Breckenridge!

You just touched a subject that still has me smiling and thinking! Gosh, Rome was the ideal place to finish high-school, you know! And it is funny to recall all these wonderful memories and not-so-wonderful moments as well!
When I think about the stupidity and the reckless deeds all of us were involved in...and still there was no violence at all and most of the time all we did was party. Yeah, that was the key-word --- Party!
I recall I would go to school on Monday thinking about where we could meet that same night "per andare a ballare, per far l'amore, chiaccherare, bere, ecc!
Needless to say that booze was one of our favourite "drugs"! And, there was no cell phones back then!

So, everything was a bit more difficult to arrange!
