My new favourite sport
« on: January 23, 2008, 03:07:00 pm »
Women's Tennis.  It's not the aggressive fast paced sport that hockey is but there's a certain appeal to it...  Could it be the outfits?  Could it be the grunting and groaning that gives Jenna Jamieson's most heartfelt performances a run for the money?  Could it be the spirit of competition and the cameraderie between female competitors?  Who knows!  What's imporant here is that it's entertaining...

Ana Ivanovic

Maria Sharapova

Daniela Huntuchova

Maria Kirilenko

Personally, I prefer grunting and groaning to be a few octaves lower but there certainly are some babes on the women's circuit at the moment. The depth of talent has also meant for many more competitive games. Finally, someone has beaten Henin.

Plus they actually rally.  Men's tennis is all "Fault" "Ace"  Maybe they'll go back and forth a couple of times but it isn't nearly as back and forth as the women's games.

I ignored the comment because I figured he was speaking for himself. It didn't offend me because I have never thought badly of myself because of my status. Never. It's obvious 404 thinks VERY badly of himself and has very little self respect. That's not my problem, and it's not yours either, Debra - although I can't help but feel a little sorry for him. It must be a hard life being so filled with self-loathing that you have to try and purge yourself of it on an internet forum.

I was speaking for myself.  Furthermore I honestly do not believe that a wealthy professional athelte with millions of dollars in tour winnings and endoresement deals is likely to enter into a relationship of a physical nature with someone who has contracted the HIV virus.  They have too much at stake for that type of risk.  Career, finances, media exposure, etc.

I have an asshole.  It is covered in hair and excretes poo.  Women have vaginas, they are a warm self lubricating organ that does not excrete poo.  Pretty simple stuff really.

Yeah it must be because I'm racist.  It couldn't possibly be because the majority of top tier professional women's tennis players are caucasian and more specifically European and even more specifically Slavic.

So far you have posted 15 pictures of Female Tennis stars of your so called 'New favourite sport"..nothing wrong with that..until you look a little closer.

11 of them are  just posing, out of those 11, in 7 of them there is not a racquet to be seen, although one of them is holding a banana..i still haven't figured out what tha thas to do with tennis..but moving on, out of those 7.. 4 are just butt shots..leaving 4 that actually look like they are playing tennis....so tell us again why this is your "New favourite sport", oh wait a sec, you already did..it's the outfits and the moaning and groaning...so it has nothing to do with the actual gameTennis has it!!

just a little advise here, if you didn't want anyone to post photos of their favourite "sport" maybe you should have posted a topic with a heading something like:

My new favourite sport..this is about me, myself and no-one else is allowed to talk about what they like, lets keep the topic on ME...just something to think about next time you complain about others who dare to come in and post their own favourite photos.

My favourites sports are swimming, beach volley ball and netball, (all of which I have played at a competitive level. BTW).but I don't feel the need to post photos just to prove that I really do enjoy those games.

I wish to apologise for the tone of what I wrote earlier this morning; whereas I still don’t care for the turn of phrase “slumming with pozzies”, on reflection, I realise that my outburst was actually misplaced anger that has been simmering away all week.

I think I’ll be avoiding logging in here until things have settled down with my meds; my friends can vouch for the fact that I’m not ‘my usual self’ lately.

Anyway, I’m sorry.

The difference between cats and dogs is that dogs come when called, whereas cats take a message and get back to you.

Thanks, D...but I don't think an apology is all that necessary (in my opinion).  I thought the phrase was kinda crummy, too.  Again, just my opinion.
