First of all thanks to everybody for their insights. I have been married for 17 years and have never had any kind of sex with anybody other than my wife ever. This past summer though my wife went to visit her parents for two months. I went to a titty bar with my friend and got a blow job from a lady. I wad pretty sure she had put condom on at that time. I am not sure anymore. I have psoriasis on my penis and had noticed redness and cut skin near the base of head that evenong. My question is am I at risk of hiv if she did not use condom. Please help

Jig, even if a condom was not used you were not at risk for HIV through getting a blowjob. Getting a blowjob is one of the most common of sexual activities. In the entire history of the epidemic there has never been a single confirmed case of transmission to a guy in that manner no matter what details are thrown into the mix, including your psoriasis.

It's safe to say your are not going to make history by becoming the first. There's no need for HIV testing nor for further concern on your part about this incident.

Getting a blowjob is absolutely NOT a risk for hiv infection, regardless of whether or not a condom is used.

Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

Before you start fretting about blood in the mouth, unless you repeatedly punched her in the mouth before she blew you, there could not possibly be enough blood present to pose a risk.

Not one person has ever been infected through getting a blowjob and you will not be the first.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER A BLOWJOB, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ann, since i have never ever had sex outside my marraige other than this incident would you recommend me getting an hiv test done. I have been worried sick for last week since I started to think about the blow job and my psoriasis on penis

What you do have is the straying partner/husband guilt syndrome. You did what you did and it cannot be undone. Accept that, let it go and get on with your life. That's best for all concerned.

And this is definitely not an HIV situation. Period. So move on with your life.

What if the penis had rash due to psoriasis and I had scratched it and it had blood which had dried. Would you still consider it a non hiv situation. Please help

It has been 13 weeks since the incident and I could not get this thought out of my mind so I went and took the hiv test this morning. I am hoping and praying.

I do want to thank you for your support last few weeks. I have had ease of mind reading your replies.

I will post the results either way. Please pray for me

You are going to get a negative result. But sometimes even when there is no risk as in your case, someone doesn't believe it until the negative test result is in hand.

Just got my results and it is negative as yoy had said all along. I do'nt kbow how to thank you for all your insight anf advises.

Could psorisis delay seroconversion for hiv?

Do i need to take another test. I had a negative western blot at 13 weeks.

No, psoriasis will NOT delay seroconversion.

You were not going to seroconvert anyway as you did NOT have a risk for hiv infection, as you have been repeatedly told. Not one person has ever been infected through getting their dick sucked, and you weren't going to be the first.

Please heed Rodney's warning. You will not be permitted to use this forum to continually question your no risk blowjob or your conclusive hiv negative test result.

You do NOT have hiv and it's time you got on with your life, always remembering to use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse.
