NYC ID Dr
« on: January 31, 2011, 03:03:52 pm »
I am going to be losing my Dr of 7 years.  I have searched on here a bit but I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for a Dr here in NYC.  What do you like about your Dr?  I want someone that actually takes time to listen and someone that has many HIV patients.  Thanks ..

Joe

I love Dr. Charles Paolino.  He shares the practice with another excellent doctor, John Dellosso.

They have both been treating HIV for a very long time and have many HIV patients.

I go to a doctor in Queens, NY.  Dr.David Rubin.  He is an HIV specialist and heads the department in New York Hospital of Queens.  So far, extremely happy with him.

Dr. Michael Mullen who works out of Mt Sinai is very good. Dr. Stuart Haber in the West Village is also excellent.

Dr. Dennis Miller is very good - really nice guy - relaxed and easygoing about things.   Does not take insurance directly, so more paperwork for the patient, but spends an entire hour with you during each visit - walks through any questions and walks through lab work.  212-472-1237.

Wow guys thanks for the info.  I have some choices to look through and make.  Much better then looking in a local magazine or a list of Drs on my insurance.

I echo the recommendation for Dr. Michael Mullen.  Experienced, empathetic and renowned in the field.  The entire Mt. Sinai crew (dermatologists, etc.) seem very coordinated in providing whole-patient care.  IMHO.
