Hi, im a rider and today i had a very unlucky event, i dropped by slipper while riding back home, and thats why i was bare foot to the carpark. And because of my rotten luck, my left foot was in contact with a sticky brown colour liquid ( i assumed that to be semen because its really look like).i googled and found out semen can be brown in colour if there is blood present in it. I have no idea which guy at the right sense of mind will dispose semen in the public. Im really praying its not but other than semen i have no idea whats that supposed to be. I went back to check that unknown liquid on the floor again and it was gathered with red ants. I was quite relieved by then but after i googled for it, i found out that semen apparently attrats ant because it contains fructose. I know i got to have open wound to get infected in this scenario but what freaks me out is that the unknown liquid was still quite fresh when i got contacted to it. how long will the hiv virus stay infectious in the semen outside its host? thanks for the time reading

Hiv is absolutely not transmitted from objects in the environment and that includes the floor.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect.

You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection when you stepped in this brown substance. Regardless of what it was.

i was afraid that while inspecting my left leg for the brown substance i came into contact with it on my hand . And i place that hand inside my mouth( my gum bleed easily with no reason,always?) will the saliva deactive the hiv before it can infect me?

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions, therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

If there was any hiv present in this brown substance you're worried about, it would have been inactivated long before it ever got near your leg or your mouth.

You are worrying unnecessarily. Stop it.

One last question okay? It is said HIV is not transmitted through blood on environmental surfaces such as doorknob , toilet seat... if the blood is still fresh and come in contact with a cut/ wound, is transmission still a no no?

It would have to be freshly pouring HIV+ blood directly into an in-the-moment wound to be the possibiility of a risk. An unlikely scenario I would say. I've never known of a confirmed case in such a manner.

If HIV were that easily transmitted we would have known so long before today.

You are bothering yourself needlessly.

i went for a test 1 week ago and the doctor promised me the test would be known in 2 days time. but when i checked with the doctor for the delay of my result, i was told that my sample was sent for a confirmatory test. i want to ask will tetanus shot taken 2 months ago cause false positive result. thanks

No, having a tetanus shot would not skewer your result.

Based on what you have reported which you are mistakenly insisting on calling a risk, we continue to expect you to test negative.

i have another exposure. i did eyebrow tattoo before. during the second touch up, the artist asked me where was the needle used for the first eyebrow embroidery. Apparently, they kept all the needles of their clients for their touch up session... how risky is this if a reused needle is used?

To reuse the needle that was used on you before? Wouldn't be a risk at all. There has never been a case of HIV transmission from piercings or tattoos.

today i was told my test result was still pending, thats why i went to another clinic for the oral rapid test. It is negative. So how reliable is this test compare with the blood test??? thanks

You are conclusively hiv negative. It's no big surprise since you never had a risk in the first place.

Keep posting about this NO RISK, CONCLUSIVE NEGATIVE situation and you'll be given a time out.
