Am I infected with oral sex?

Hi there. I'm new here.

Just to start off, I'll make it short and simple.

My exposure was unprotected oral sex with a prostitute. First I capped my penis with condom. Then after a while removed the condom and she continue to suck my penis. For about 10 - 15 minutes I guess. I didn't like it. So I didn't ejaculate. Then she just gave me a handjob with some oily stuff I guess. I didn't like it as well so I just ask her to stopped and went to toilet and pee and shower then off I go.

I'm worried now cause I don't know what are chances I will be getting HIV from the blowjob and handjob she gave me.

Will I be get infected with any HIV? What are the chances I will be infected and also what are the chances I'll be infected with STDs?

Hey Bro , you did not have a risk getting that blow job . There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.) These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex. Any kind of oral sex.

These studies yielded NO infections .

There are dozens of proteins and enzymes that damage HIV and render it unable to infect , so no worries from the BJ .

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED  HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care checkup, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine checkups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!

Just to clarify -

You cannot get HIV from getting a blow job. Saliva is not infectious, and contains over a dozen elements which actually neutralize HIV.

In the 30 plus year hidtory of the HIV pandemic, NO ONE has been documented as having gotten HIV through oreal sex. No one.

HOwever, other STDs are more robust.

You are not LIKELY to get an STD from getting a blowjob, but it's not impossible to get gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes and syphilis from getting one.

This is NOT an HIV situation at all.

So sorry that I asked the obvious. Cause that day I was reading another post in this forum and it said oral sex can transmit HIV. I was in shocked. I was like bloody hell.

But I think she's the girl who gave oral sex to someone else. I don't think he's the guy who received it. Is it? So I think giving oral sex has more risk than receiving it then?

Anyway, I just got myself test for both HIV and STD. 30 days after the exposure. Will it be conclusive or just indicative?

Well, here's the thing.

We started charging for AM I INFECTED posts after the three free ones last year. Smart+Strong, the company that owns Poz.com and AIDSMEDS.com decided on that, to defray the operating expenses. Obviously we volunteers who answer questions don't see that money, and to be fair, it hasn't been the cash cow that s+s thought it would be.

That having been said, many folks try to circumvent that money thing by declaring themselves HIV positive. They post, we commiserrate, and after less than ten posts, they vanish - because it's hard to pull off doctor's visits, blood work, and all the technical stuff that one necessarily goes through when testing positive and getting the requisite bloodwork. Not impossible, mind you. We have had some really GOOD players come through and work their way in. But between those of us who know the drill and the global moderators who monitor IP addresses, we catch almost all the imposters.

I am not saying the poster you referenced is one. Only that, as soon as his assertions were challenged (as they rightfully should have been) he vanished.

So trawling the Just Infected forum looking for validation as to your risk is like going to the waiting room as a doctors office and asking people who have yet to see a doctor to diagnose themselves. Best of luck with that.

Some people come to this site shell shocked, and are ashamed to admit to high-risk situations. Some are active meth users, or on other drugs that cloud their memories or reasoning abilities. Some honestly have no recollection of their risk. And some are simply looking for sympathy, to put themselves in a class of "immaculate infections" that defy science - which gives them a standing, in their minds, to judge the rest of us.

It's fucked up.

But nothing I haven't seen before. And you will note that almost all of the people with "immaculate infections" rarely migrate from the "JUST DIAGNOSED" forum into the "LIVING WITH HIV" forum. There is a reason for that. You can't keep up the lies that defy science, and yet embrace that SAME science to provide treatment options. It's just not possible.

You have had absolutely no risk and do not need testing.

HIV would have been declared a contagious, rather than infectious disease if KISSING and GIVING HEAD  were a risk. Saliva is NOT CONTAGIOUS.

You have had no risk. You do not need to test.

And trawling the forums, especially the JUST TESTED POSITIVE forums, where many people are scared, drugged, and imposters post is hardly in your best interests.

These people shake themselves out eventually. We respond to everyone there with compassion and kindness, but also with some skepticism. I suggest you do the same.
