I put this up on face book a while back and even in AIDSMEDS too I thought.
Really must have been built for an arab cause its very much in the taste of some of mansions I worked in when I worked for billionaire arabs.  I thought I wouldn't like it, but actually its very cozy and otherworldly, like living in a genie bottle or the 1001 nights palace. There's always a pattern to look at, so much details, and you can also have fun figuring out all the classical references in the design and how its been manufactured for today's tastes and materials.  Also, think of all the furniture makers, decorators, designers who get to make money putting together a pile like that.  This one has a saving grace in the color scheme - its rather calms down the extravagance.

You might also like the pile that Mariah Carey was supposed to have tried to buy last year.  Its on this site, and is called Fleur de Lys

Just remember - the top 1% is getting richer and richer and richer, by far, for the last two decades.  Its the return of the guilded age and robber barons that created Newport, Palm Beach, etc etc.
Well almost.  In 1900 a Robber Baron could drop 10 million on furnishing a mansion.  That would be how many hundreds of millions in today's dollars?  Maybe only the royal palaces of the oil states can really compete.

My partner and I put our house on a house exchange site and offer to share our house or guest house with people from around the world. I wonder if some of the people on this site would benefit from that offer?
Many people come to Costa Rica for medical and dental procedures at much less costs.
There are flights from Chicago and Maimi for $100.00 so the travel cost is minimal.
With a free place to stay, I would think most folks could afford the trip in the savings to one dentist....
Any thoughts?

Keep offering and your place is going to get nominated for AMG 2012  ;)  I'd always planned to retire to South America once I hit critical mass. After catching this virus, though, I'm a bit leery about getting too far away from a good VA hospital. Hopefully, the time will come where I'll be brave enough to make that kind of move; or, better yet, the researchers will make it a non-issue  8) Now, a vacation it certainly not out of the question.... :P

If you can't help your own people, who can you help?
One of the major tourisms in Costa Rica is for medical procedures.
My partner had an upper GI test run in the US years ago at a cost of $9,000!
In CR it cost $115.00..... Dental is dirt cheap and great also.

In exchange for helping fellow members, we would get intellectual stimulation.
The farm life is beautiful, but boring.
If anyone needs procedures done, we are there!
