Title: Unprotected handjob from massage parlour.
Post by: anxiousvery on February 27, 2012, 10:19:10 am
Dear experts,
On the 21st February 2012, I received a handjob from a masseuse after 40 mins of massage in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As far as i know, I did not have any cuts or abrasions around my genital region. I have read the welcome thread and it did not mention anything about genital - hand transmission and this has caused great anxiety to me. So this was what happened, after 40 minutes of massage, she offered me a handjob in which I obliged to. Before, during and after the handjob she was fully clothed and the only body part of her I had contact with is her left breast in which I did not use that particular hand to touch my penis. (I also had no breast milk on my hand as far as I am concerned). I ejaculated about a 2 minutes afterwards and this worries me as she did went to the toilet for a moment before coming back and offering me the handjob. Assuming she had urine or menstrual blood, or vaginal secretions on her hand then starts to masturbate me, will I be at risk of exposure to the HIV virus? I went back to the massage parlour the next day and checked her hands on the palm region and there was no cuts or abrasions visible to the eye. I did not shave before the incident and I did not had a cut on my penis or anywhere near the region. Another question, if she had touched my uretha and wiped my penis after ejaculation, am i at greater risk of transmission. About 5 days after the incident, I developed a blocked nose which will always last for about 2 hours or so then it would be clear, I am also experiencing fatigue but no rash and no fever. I checked up the symptoms of HIV and it seems similar to the ones i have. I hope I would get a reply soon. Thanks to all the great people here and to this forum for helping anxious and depressed people like me. I have not been able to get proper sleep nor focus attention on my work ever since this incident.

Thanks all.

Anxious,

There is no mention of genital-hand hiv transmission because it doesn't happen. Why include something that is not a risk? If it doesn't appear in the lesson as a possible transmission vector, it means that it isn't a transmission vector. Simple, eh?

Mutual masturbation is not, never has been and never will be a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has ever been infected this way and you are not going to be the first.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus. It is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and renders it unable to infect. For this reason, masturbation is NOT a risk for hiv infection. It happens OUTSIDE the body, not inside.

It doesn't matter if you had cuts or not. Still no risk. It doesn't matter if she had cuts on her hands. Still no risk.

Her hands could have been dripping in vaginal fluids, menstrual blood, saliva or urine and you still would not have been at risk. By the way, saliva and urine are NOT infectious fluids.

You have NOT had a risk and you do NOT need to test over this specific, NO RISK incident.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER THIS HANDJOB, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks alot Ann for the very comforting reply. I actually feel better now. A last question, regarding my symptoms, does an individual infected with HIV experience symptoms similar to mine in 5 days or is it longer? I am planning to get a test anyway at the 3 weeks mark to completely clear this stupid and regretful incident out of my mind forever. Ann, I totally agree with you that condoms are a girl's best friend but may I also add that condoms are everyone's best friend. For example, should I had use a condom during which she masturbated me, I would not have such a depressing week. Last question, regarding mutual masturbation, why does the HIV virus not transmit if there is presence of infected blood on the uretha? That is all thanks so much ann.

Anxious,

I already explained to you that hiv is NOT transmitted outside the body. Masturbation happens outside the body.

You don't need condoms for a handjob. If it makes you feel better, wear one for a handjob, but you don't need it. You don't need a condom for getting a blowjob either where hiv is concerned. You only need condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse.

Forget about symptoms. Neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms will ever tell you a single thing about your hiv status.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. It has nothing to do with hiv.

You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection. Not one single person has EVER been infected through getting a handjob and you are not going to be the first.

dear experts,
I've come up with runny nose and a slight fever which lasted about 2 hours today when i woke up this morning. Also, a hint of sore throat. I certainly did not want to bother you lovely people with my problems but I would just need a simple word of assurance from a few of you. According to my post, I had a handjob on the 21st February. Now it would be about 2 weeks since i received the handjob and I now have all the symptoms of ARS. Does it mean i have been infected by the virus? Also does STI's other than HIV transfers itself through handjobs? Thanks alot all of you.

What part of you did not have a risk is it you can't seem to understand and comprehend?

dear rapid rod. thank you for the comforting reply. Ok since i dont have a risk for STIs and HIV i do not need a test right? The symptoms are just a mere coincidence right?? Thanks

Anxious,

No, you do not need to test specifically over this no risk handjob. Please re-read your entire thread until it sinks in.

Hi again experts.
Ok, so i've been able to get the thought of me acquiring HIV these couple of weeks. but recently i thought about the fever and flu like illness i had post 2 weeks exposure. now i know i have been told repeatedly that HJ's are not a risk. However i would like you to consider this scenario. Assuming I was getting a HJ and she performed oral sex on me when i was closing my eyes and i did not realise the BJ ( i have never received a bj in my life before, or have penetrative sex) the HJ was actually the first. If she had a sore or watever in her mouth, will i get HIV? It is approaching week 5 and i would be going to test my status in week 8. Is it conclusive? (im testing for a peace of mind). Also can you get any type of STDs from a handjob?

Sorry im posting again,
I was reading the 'someone i care about has HIV' forums and noticed that some people get infected with the most unusual way. So this guy helped a guy with hiv and some blood got into his eyes. He tested positive afterwards. My question is posts by andy, ann, rapid and the other experts. PLEASE dont get me wrong i appreciate what all of you are doing here. being surrounded by the thought of being infected with HIV is indeed suicidal. OK back to the point. I was told that once HIV is exposed to the air it becomes inactive per say. So lets say the blood that got into the eye was exposed to the air, why was he still infected with HIV?

Re-read what Ann said to you.

You need to do yourself a big favor and stop reading about other cases which may or may not have been confirmed as reported. All you are doing is anxously searching for material to feed your worst fears and all to no good purpose.

The point is that based on what you have reported you did not have a risk for HIV transmission. So you are worrying needlessly. Cut out the drama and get on with your life. You can if you wish get tested and collect the inevitable negative result. That's totally unnecesary of course because you did not have a risk.

Give it up and get on with your life. Really.

Thanks andy. I will stop this mind games from now on. But just for my own education on hiv transmission. Does it occur through infected blood going into the eyes? (Just asking, Im not concerned about this). Also can u get any STIs from a handjob? This is my last and final post. Thanks andy.

Anxious,

Just because someone claims to have been infected in some odd way doesn't make it true. That thread you read in "Someone" was posted by the guy's wife - who's to say he didn't use that situation to cover up him having sex outside his marriage? That is the most likely situation - the blood in the eye thing is pure fantasy. However, we're not going to challenge someone's story in the other parts of the forum. What matters in the other sections is that the person is poz, not how they got it.

As far as I'm aware, there has never been a proven, documented case of transmission via blood in the eye.

You need to get over the fact that you got a handjob. It wasn't a risk for hiv infection, end of story.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you Ann. That was very informative. Although, I have a last question. (Dont worry I am totally over the HIV thing). But i just want to know can STI's except HIV transmit through a handjob. After getting this answer i'll be out of here. Thank you so much for all you lovely people who help people like me who are scared to death. But trust me, after 4 weeks, u do feel alittle relieved. Thanks ann. hope to hear from u soon.

Anxious,

The only thing you're likely to have been infected with during a handjob is guilt, and it looks like you got that for sure. Knock it off. Someone touched your penis - it's not the end of the world and it's not a risk for hiv either. Get on with your life.
