I came away from the Chesney interview that he was trying too hard. The fact he used touring to interfere with his honeymoon, and especially the Hooters plane.
I would imagine most of his roadies are married. So I would imagine the wives wouldn't enjoy this. There was something very sad coming from that interview, like he is trying to run away from himself.
Again I wish when this comes in interviews the interviewee points out that by saying yes I am gay might be career suicide. Read the comments to get a better perspective.

What would make the difference? We pay for his music not what he does in the bedroom or withwhom he does it with. I could care less about his sexuality. I like his music.

I would imagine there were a variety of reasons.
For the fact that he is gay doesn't mean she hates him and knowing that outing him would not only make her look bad but also for him since his fan base is red neck Americans known for their tolerance of sexual orientation (!)
Also she might also have a gigantic lawsuit even Liberache won a lawsuit for being outed.
In fact I wonder why they didn't go for one of the other choices, since fraud is mostly used in cases where a partner is unable to commit the act due to sexual orientation.
