Milk Thistle is a potent compound
« on: August 15, 2008, 03:17:20 pm »
I used regular milk thistle and noticed marginal improvements in reductions in liver pain.I did not observe what the silymarin content was.I decided to try a more potent version of milk thistle which is bound to phosphatidylcholine and the immediate discontinuance of liver pain was highly impressive. I did notice that the phosphatidycholine version of milk thistle decreased my appetite and libido. This natural compound based on my experience is a winner but should not be used as a replacement for meds that treat Hep B or Hep C.Also i was told not to use milk thistle by my doctor when i was undergoing chemotherapy because it can alter white cell blood counts.

Is MIlk Thistle safe to take while on Atripla. I am always concerned how things might interact with my meds.

Lorenzopier,

I would like to know what dazzling combination of herbal supplements you're going to take to deal with your rising viral load.

Hello Bettyacy,

That is the big question of the year that everyone wants to know.As far as i know at this moment in time only triple combination therapy with HAART can deal with that particular immune marker.

Once again I would like to remind people to please check with your doctor before trying anything suggested by Lorenzopier.

I can tell you from experience that he is playing a dangerous game with his health. I went down the road he is on and ended up seriously ill. To this day I don't think my battered immune system has ever completely recovered.

He may think he knows what he is doing by his ever replicating virus proves otherwise.

He may think he is buying time, but in my opinion he is only buying trouble. Please read his posts with a grain of salt.

I also used to take mega-supplements.  I had a shoebox full of 'em.  They did nothing for my immune system.  They also worsened the wasting I was going through at the time.

Yes, please, anyone considering supplements, check with your doctor and pharmacist.
