Started on Kivexa and Raltegrevir (Isentress)

Just switched to the above two days ago due to Truvada and Maraviroc not working out so well.

Anyone else on this combo? How has it worked for you?

Hi ad2san.
The Truvada/Maraviroc combo was making me feel like I was packing around a 50lb bag of rocks all day. I was exhausted a lot of the time. I know it was this combo since I was in Kivexa and a trial drug up until about 3 mo's ago. That trial ended and I went on the above.

I just switched to kivexa / isentress so we'll see how it goes.

How is this treatment going for you?

Hello, as far as subjective side effects are concerned I have nothing about what I can complain.
As far as objective side effects are concerned : only good things; my blood analysis comes back totally normal, VL still undetectable. I have the impression I am loosing my hair more LOL.
Pretty much easy combo.

Have been on this combo for almost 8 months.....no side effects or issues to report yet.

Hey challenger
I started to feel some fatigue a few weeks back but not as bad as the previous treatment.
Also I have a constant muscle cramp in my right calf muscle.
I posted on another thread recently where someone was asking about that side effect for the same treatment so i'm guessing that's not a coincidence.

That is a Viramune side effect ! the hair grows , but, in the wrong direction, then your brain gets all confused.

On these forums , I can hardly remember of anyone complaining about RAL (except one or 2 viral falure, which, indeed, is not good news for the patient)

So I tried to talk my doctor into it, because I am tired of feeling tired!

Yet, My doc, said he has seen more SE on RAL than on Viramune or even EFV

I was surprised, but, I trust the guy. I just hope he did not bullshit me just to save the extra cost. I did not pursue the issue. But, I hope it gets better!

Ad2San, I am sorry I lost a pill buddy. I do not have that many

I hope RAL will be good for you. This was my original 'preferred' choice, but , here, it is reserved for second line therapy
