The pair planned to travel from Shenyang in the northeast to Shijiazhuang, south of Beijing, but were barred from the Spring Airlines plane after they informed staff of their status, the Global Times said.
. . .
But he also blamed the passengers, and said the firm would not deny HIV-positive travellers transport in future, as long as they did not make themselves "overly noticeable" to avoid scaring other customers.
wonder why they disclosed their status? This article doesn't say they were questioned about their meds; but that they offered this information to the flight staff. (And they did this in a country with a lot of HIV discrimination.)

the refunds and laws for discrimination need to be very strong. they should hit hard and they should hurt. quantifying the moral and ethical damage is always difficult but to avoid such episodes in the future, companies and corporations should pay high amounts in refunds.
