DOUBLE CHIN ALTERED MY LOOKS
« on: April 07, 2011, 05:51:43 pm »
I have been on Atripla for 5 years now and I have gained a significant amount of weight since.  I am not over weight but look way healthier now.  My problem is in the past year I have developed a double chin and my face does not look as it used to.  Taking photos has become a challenge due to the double chin.

I have been working out my neck but its not helping.  Is there any form of surgery to get rid of the excess fat behind my real chin?  If so, anyone that has done it, how much does it cost?  I am willing to pay the fee to get my cute face back.  I have since been looking at alot people that may weigh the same as myself and even heavier and do not have a double chin.  Why should I?  Is there a devil ingredient in my regimen causing this?  if so I am willing to jump the gun and switch to another regimen if thats what it will take to get rid of the chameleon neck.

Please help

i have an ever-growing double chin too - i'm not on atripla (i was for a year or two way back) i'm on truvada isentress now - doc said it would be better for lipo problems

i am going to get some fat sucked out in july in san francisco
check out these before after photos on dr romanos website
http://www.jromano.com/FacialAesthetics/Male_LiposuctionFaceNeck.html

he cuts thru the neck muscle and sucks the fat behind the muscle and then connects the muscle back together
he is doing my hump and back at the same time
hope it works - i'll report back in july

i had my liposuction surgery on july 14th in san francisco and had my chin, chipmunk cheeks, back of neck and head, hump and shoulder blades done and i am very pleased with the results

it is amazing - my chin is back to normal and my face is slim again
i took my shirt off for the first time in years at the pool this month and it felt great to not hide because of the hump

i also went on a zone diet (thefreshdiet.com) and lost 21lb so far - so my stomach looks flatter - so diet does work on somethings - i always blamed it on the meds and thought it was hopeless so why try - i also thought that if i lost weight my hump and chin would look ridiculous but the combo of liposuction and diet really worked  :D

Congrats on all of your changes! Thanks for including that link. Those before/after's are impressive.
I'm going to look up the diet link -- I would love to shed 20 pounds.

Congrats on your successful diet and surgery! I would love to know the name of the physician you worked with and approximately how much it cost. If you don't want to post it on the message board feel free to PM me.

sure
it was Dr. James Romano in San Francisco
www.jromano.com
415.981.3911

i flew out there because i could not find anyone in my area that had the same amount of experience - in NY i was either told that liposuction would not do much to help - since i had liposuction on my hump 4 years ago or other docs told me they had to cut it out and i didn't want the 5" scar

his fees were 9k and the outpatient surgery center/anesthesia was $3100
i submitted it to my insurance but i do not know how much if any they will cover
a few of the docs i saw in NYC told me they could get my insurance to cover most of the procedure
