Anyone else in the Seattle Area?

and know of a good therapist?  Someone who has experience with HIV.  I am looking to change therapist's.  I have been seeing the same one on and off for a few years, started prior to having HIV and am thinking about changing to someone who has more experience with the subject.  Just looking for a referral if anyone knows someone good.

I am.  I was referred to one by my sister while I was overseas and she was a big help.  Although I wouldn't call her an HIV expert per say, she was very understanding of my situation.  However, I'm not seeing her anymore because I'm military and they assign their own providers through TRICARE.

Hi Second, welcome to the forums. Therapy is a good idea when you're newly diagnosed - it's such a roller coaster ride of emotions and they can be difficult to sort through on your own.

While I don't know the Seattle area and can't tell you about therapists there, I can tell you something else about Seattle.

For the past several years, forum members have been meeting up in various cities in August for an AIDSmeds Gathering (AMG) and this year it is taking place in Seattle. It would be a great chance for you to meet others living with hiv - some have been living with it for over 20 years and some are very new to it just like you.

I live in what I believe is the best city in the world.  I've lived in dozens of other cities in the past when I was flight crew, but this is my favorite place ever.

That said, I am in need of a good therapist myself.  I am experiencing a return of my GAD in a more severe form.
