I take it you don't know anything of her sexual history? You had unprotected sex, so it will be necessary for you to test. It doesn't matter if you ejaculate or not. The only way to know your status is to test.

njay,

Anytime you have unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse, you are putting yourself at risk for hiv and other sexually transmitted infections and you need to test.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

The ONLY way to know your hiv status is through testing.

Ann

i am having my test tommorow and will hear the results 30 mins later.

im going crazy at home and the time is going slower and slower, i called the hotline and the women tolled me that i do not need to worry and the risk of getting infected is very small.

Some things you should know:

HIV is not an easy virus to transmit. It's significantly more difficult to accomplish from female to male.

Low risk is not the same as no risk. So from here on in no matter whom you are with you need always to be wearing a condom when you have intercourse. No exceptions.

Asking someone else about their HIV status and basing whether you use a condom or not on that information is a mistake. Even a well meaning person may not know their accurate HIV status. You are responsible for your own health and you show that awareness by always using a condom.

The odds are in your favor that you will test negative this time. But you do need to learn from this experience and in the future always use a condom.

Good luck with your test.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Hey Andy,

thanks for your reply, i feel allot more better now.
and yes your are very correct about using a condom everytime.

the reason im getting testen also is i started a new relationship with a new girl and it's going great.
so she and i are getting ourselfs tested just to be sure of ourselfs.

thanks again andy !

You're welcome.

Assuming both you and your new gf both test negative, I also urge you not to rush into abandoning the use of condoms until you are both ready and willing to commit to a securely monogamous relationship.

Good luck and cheers,

njay,

We would be pleased if you contacted an hiv/aids organisation in your area and gave them a donation.

Thanks,
Ann

njay,

Thank you for the offer, but we don't encourage people to stick around. We find people often end up worrying about their own situation again when they stay here reading about other people's concerns.

If you're serious about wanting to help more, ask at the place where you made the donation if they need volunteers. Local places are often crying out for help. They'll give you proper training as well, something we can't really offer.

Good luck. ;)
