Hey Folks,

I'm in panic. March 20th, i did a blowjob on a guy i hooked up online, i don't know if he's HIV+, i sucked him for about 2 or 4 minutes in his car, i licked his pre-cum and then we both masturbate, he didn't cum in my mouth. Am I in risk for HIV? I didn't notice any bruises/sores in his penis. My mouth was okay too. I'm feeling tired, stressed, feverish. Actually i'm in treatment for depression and panic disorder w/ Paroxetine, i don't know if it's the drug side effects or if i'm infected with HIV or even if it's just a flu. I'm freaking out. That was my first sexual experience, i know i choose the wrong way by doing with with someone i meet online.

Hi Worried , You didn't have a risk for HIV in the situation you described .There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.) These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex. Any kind of oral sex.


ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care checkup, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine checkups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!
These studies yielded NO infections.

So i'm safe? When should i get tested? 1 month? Just for peace of mind.
This is so disturbing i'm nearly having a breakdown. I read so many things, so many people telling that oral sex is risk as anal or vaginal sex. I guess they're based on an inaccurate info then... I wish i was more calm. Thanks anyway.

You are going to be OK . You can test 6 weeks post exposure and again at 3 months to confirm your results .

Although you don't need testing for this incident , as a sexually active person you should get used to the idea that testing at least once a year is a good thing , its the responsible thing to do .

Just a few more questions
a) Paroxetine and Diazepam can affect my test result?
b) What are the statistics about contaminations with oral sex? It's really 0,04% chance?
c) The Pre-cum could contain the virus?
d) A Hemogram could give any hint if i'm infected? My leucocyts are high.

As Jeff rightly advised you, you never had an exposure and all your other questions do not apply.

Worried , you are sure putting yourself through allot of grief over a no risk incident .

A . The antidepressants and drugs you are taking will not effect an HIV test .

B . We don't factor statistics when giving risk assessments because there are too many unknown parameters in every situation . C . There are dozens of proteins and enzymes in your saliva that render HIV unable to infect . We assume we are dealing with a HIV positive person that you had sex with and your situation adds up to no risk even if there was precum or ejaculate .

D . The only way to know if you are HIV positive is to test at the appropriate time . 

Rod is correct , all your questions have been answered but I'm going to post this anyway because it took so long to put it all together . Get on with your life and stop worrying about this .
