Title: Safeness of Ejaculation in Someone's Mouth?
Post by: newday23 on August 22, 2013, 10:41:57 am
I was wondering what the general opinion was for ejaculating in a persons mouth, me being the hiv poz person.  I'm 31, healthy, undetectable, and CD4 860.  At what risk might the negative person be for my semen if I were to ejaculate into their mouth, or if they were to swallow my semen?  I have always wondered about this and the risks but have never gotten clear answers.

Wearing a rubber for oral sex is unnecessary. Particularly with his undetectable viral load.

Newday, oral sex isn't the risk some people would have you believe. It's only a problem when the person doing the sucking has terrible oral health, and the person being sucked has a really high viral load.

You have an undetectable viral load - so you're not going to transmit your virus if you cum in someone's mouth.

Not only are there not many cells present in the mouth that hiv can infect (unless the person has terrible oral health - think "meth mouth"), but saliva also has over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one. It's worth noting that not all the positive partners in these studies had UD VLs.

Obviously you should disclose your hiv status before you cum in someone's mouth, so they can decide for themselves what they're comfortable with. Provided you don't have any other active STIs (in which case you shouldn't be cuming in someone's mouth anyway), with your UD VL you're just not going to transmit your virus.

Oral sex in general can be a risk factor for many stds such as gonorrhea , chlamydia , syphilis , HPV , Herpes and cooties . Ann included the fact that oral sex with stds should be avoided .

Thanks everyone for your posts.  So I've heard that even if you have something like genital herpes as well for example, that as long as you're on meds for something like genital herpes (while also having HIV) that you won't give herpes to your partner.  Because you are on meds and it is controlling it and even preventing viral shedding.  So if you are in a situation like that, then you can still come in someones mouth and they wont be at risk.  Because both diseases are under control right?  Being the situation that you don't have any outbreaks at all of the herpes.

Thanks so much Ann.  I thought that was correct.  Now I will use this as my guide.

Perhaps the most important thing you should be careful about . . . is the teeth!

Thank you, that is what I was thinking so, but it good to read it regularly to be aware; just like a cold shower to avoid bad conducts...
