Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

hi im an 18 year old boy and i had sex today with another 18 year old boy. this wasnt my first time to do that. i havent done it in a while but obviously i forgot the fears and worries that come after sex. he said it was his second time which i suppose i could trust him on but you just never know. anyways back to the point....i received anal and gave oral sex. (or whatever you say)   Im just scared i got something from it. The anal sex was protected but when he pulled out there was blood on the condom or at least thats what i noticed after i was cleaning up. then i noticed there was blood when i used the bathroom 5 min later. is that normal? i'm scared i was infected. but it sounds like protection prevents it. I feel worried...but i dont want to worry. does this sound like a risky situation?  i will go get tested but i just need something to calm the fears. im almost certain i dont have anything from this encounter as the anal was protected and i only gave oral. thanks and this forum is a big help.

No, you weren't at risk, you had protected sex and that's good, please keep using condoms and look after your health, it's the only way to stay safe.

Please read our welcome thread and follow the lessons on how HIV is and is not transmitted.


You do not need to test over this incident, but if it makes you feel better then go for it, just know it's not necessary, and please remember anyone who is sexually active should be having a full STD check up at least once a year, and also remember by agreeing to have unprotected sex you run the risk of a possible infection from all STD's.

Use condoms for anal/vaginal sex at all times...NO EXCEPTIONS.
