AP Interview... Thanks to all... UPDATED!!! Kind of...
« on: May 31, 2006, 03:13:24 pm »
who wished me well and sent good luck wishes in the Testing Forum as well as in the old forums (which I will miss dearly.)

Well, tomorrow is the day at 1 in the afternoon, and I'm not feeling as nervous as I was yesterday.  My mind was going in a thousand places at once yesterday, and I couldn't keep up with my thoughts. I've been thinking about this alot and I'm confident that I will be able to steer the conversation my way.  My thoughts are collected now.

Iggy, I have to say "Thank you" so very much for the great advice.  I've printed out your comments and will use it as a base.  Thank you!!!  You're a GEM. :-* :)

Michael (Sonoma) - HOW AWESOME!  I'm so happy that you will be doing an interview also.  How f**king great is this?  GIVE 'EM HELL MICHAEL!!!  I'll be thinking of you.  ROCK ON DUDE!! 8) :) :-*

Everyone else, thanks for all your support and I will have you all in my heart as I do this.  I gain strength from all of you and without "YOU" guys, I don't know if I'd have the balls to take this on.  I LOVE YOU ALL!!! :-*

Now I have to figure out what to wear, how to do my hair and all that girlie stuff.  Alan, maybe I will make John buy me something new to wear -- I must look my best, no? ;)

I'll keep ya posted...

Thanks again everyone! :-*

Trishie, girlfriend...

Our phones have been hot these past couple of days, and you were the first person to hear my news about my local interview!

I have told you in private, and will say so in public, how wonderfully proud I am of you with everything you've done for all of us, here on AM.

Sorry I didn't see your post on our old forums, but you know you are always in my heart, and on my mind.

Months ago, I told you that our paths had converged for some reason, and now, I think, the reasons are being revealed. Imagine, interviews for newspapers within days of each other, OMG, how perfect is that???

All my love, darlin',

Trish,

Thank you for standing up and being counted.  This thread brings tears to my eyes, and at the same time, a huge amount of gratitude for the women of AIDSmeds.com that are taking a stand and saying "Fuck You" to those that might try to intimidate them.  This is the type of action/participation that will grow and multiply, so all you women; rock on!!!!

In LOving Thanks.

If anybody going to Montreal gets the story in their local paper (and I imagine that being on the AP wire, with all the hype about "25 Years," a lot of outlets will pick this up) I would like to suggest you clip it out and take it to Trish.  What Thickish Scrapbook This Way Comes!

I am so happy for you, Trish! This is going to give you a lot of leverage in your future endeavors.  That article in New York was only the beginning.  I can only imagine how many people your experience will touch.  This is the big time, and YOU WILL SHINE!

Trish,

I am so proud of you, i am not brave enough yet to take the step and start a support group up here in my town. But with people like you and Zeph. and Michael doing all of this it is making me move closer and closer to calling my case manager and getting things going. I hope i can read about all of yours and the others interviews. Thanks for being you, you are so strong and brave.

Love, Wendy

F**K!!!

I'm sorry gang.... I'm so pissed at myself.

I just typed not once, but twice, posts about my interview and I somehow screwed up and lost them.  I don't know what the hell I did, but the first post I typed took me 20 minutes to type and edit.  It was long, of course, you all probably expect that from me, but I messed up.  GOD DAMNIT!!!

The second one, was a post about my first f**k up, but I screwed that up too.  I don't know what the.... damnit!!! >:( :( :'(

Damn!!!

I'm sorry, but I'm such a blond sometimes -- I think it's time I died my hair black!!!  Holy crap, what a schmuck I am.  I swear.

Anyway, I don't have the time to do it all again.  I'll just say that the interview went extremely well and I feel relieved having done it.

Shit... I'll have to come back later and fill you in.  Damn, that was probably one of the best posts of my life.  Damn... :( :-[

Oh well...

I'll be back later, when my head is in a better place.  And I'll post the link to the article, which is due out on Monday, as soon as I receive it.

Shit!!!

I'll see ya a bit later.

But, I do have to say...

I never would have been able to do this interview had it not been for all the love and support I received from my AM family.  I love you all very deeply and I want you to know that everything I do as far as disclosing in a public manner -- going global, I am doing for all of you, those who have passed before us, those who will become infected in the future and most importantly, I did this for myself.  It was something I've been wanting to do for many, many years and I won't stop here.  I will do it again, somewhere, sometime... I know I will.  I have been stifled by the stigma of HIV for too many years, and I'm sick of hiding and living in a lie.  I can't do it anymore and I refuse to be held back by societies misconceptions.  I won't, I can't!!!  There is no turning back for me, I have to continue on this road -- and it's a road that I'm not certain of -- and the unknown always scares me, but I won't let it stop me from living in a free society.  No more... I'm taking control of HIV now.  I'm going to do everything in my power to stop the STIGMA -- the most harrowing and destructive part of HIV for me.

I'll be back later after I've had some lunch and am better able to put my thoughts in writing one more time.

Thank you all for being there for me.  I LOVE YOU DEARLY...

Hey Trish, had to go to the old forum to get the picture. This looks really good, well done lady. I truly hope this will open doors on other opportunities in your activism. I have no doubt you will pass on the right message loud and clear...you have all the ingredients it takes and you will make us proud. Looking forward to the update.

Poor Trish.. I know how ya feel.  I've had stuff like that happen too many times.  That's why now, if I have a long post to write, I write it up in WordPad or something the copy and paste.  That way if something happens you have a copy and don't need to retype it all again.

Hope you had something good for lunch.  I just had some lasagne!  Mmmmm.  ;D
