I'm confused about Seroconversion

So I tested positive on an Oraquick test on 10/30/13, two weeks after I had my last sexual encounter (10/15/13). It was a faint line, but they confirmed it with a blood test and said my viral load is 2350 and my CD4 is 438. Just this past week 11/19-11/27 I started experiencing severe nausea and diarrhea (seroconversion symptoms). My question is that if I already tested positive, doesn't that mean I've already seroconverted back in October when I tested positive? Now I was on a double dose of antibiotics and since finishing them I don't feel nauseous anymore, so that may have been the problem.

Seroconversion illness is NOT something that happens to all people who get infected. In fact, many people don't experience any issues at all with seroconversion. And some of those who don't know they're HIV poz, usually attribute any seroconversion illness issues with just "being sick".

Often HIV poz people worry too much and think they have "symptoms" - symptoms that don't have anything to do with HIV. For example, nausea and diarrhea are incredicly common side effects of antibiotics. Yet here you are, even though those side effects ceased when you stopped taking the antibiotics, attributing these "symptoms" to HIV. LOL Your numbers are clearly very good (a very low VL and nearly "normal" cd4 count (500 - 1000)), so I would suggest you shouldn't be worrying about HIV-related issues but worried about issues from those antibiotics.

Besides, if I may ask, what were the antibiotics for? Obviously you were already experiencing some sort of problem. Could the nausea and diarrhea be symptoms of THAT problem??

I had an abscess. So me testing positive in Oct means I've already seroconverted, correct? Just to clarify haha.

I am having trouble understanding what the problem is since you are better and there is no way of knowing if it was seroconversion or not , it doesn't sound like it was but makes little difference now  . Why are you so curious about seroconversion at this point ?

if a western blot test has came back proving you're HIV positive, then yes, your seroconversion has come and gone - and you didn't even notice when it happened LOL
