« on: February 04, 2008, 11:24:21 pm »
This coming Thursday is the first day of the Chinese New Year, marking the beginning of the Year of Rat.

Good health to all you rats out there and everyone else! And may we all have the same robust energy and excellent survival skills of this furry and much misunderstood creature.

Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I was born in the year of the rat (metal rat) with the astro sign of capricorn... I need a good year... and I tend to hoard things likewise so I think the Chinese have something here... Happy Chinese New Year... the year of the rat! I'm going to write this in my journal... lol

Thanks the Dragon Lady... ;D

But then it should give everyone an additional excuse to re-make their new year resolutions.. if I could I celebrate all new years (the one in Thailand I reckon is in the middle of the year, etc). Anyway, some additional info for all you rats out there:

A Ratty Year

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in rat years tend to be leaders, pioneers, and conquerors. They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical and hardworking. Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Affleck, Samuel L. Jackson, William Shakespeare, and Mozart were all born in the year of the rat.

Here's a red pocket to everyone! The word in the middle is "Fu", means a state of bliss.

Hugs, Shaun

Ha, I am a DOG that acts like a PIG... I don't know what that makes me... ;D

The Pig

The Pig is a fun and enlightening personality blessed with patience and understanding. People born under the sign of the Pig enjoy life and all it has to offer, including family and friends. They are honest and thoughtful and expect the same of other people. Pigs can be perceived as oblivious or gullible because they do care about others so much that they will do just about anything for a friend in need.
