my son has a mandatory training in Texas. He needs an extra 14 days of pills but his insurance will not make a "vacation" allowance. His ID doctor has no samples. A clinic I called has no samples. The pharmacy he called in Texas was not very helpful.
The cost of 14 pills is quite alot without insurance paying for them. Any body have any suggestions. The only option is to have me fill the prescription here and mail it to Texas and hope it gets there in time. At least there is an option. But wondering if anyone has come across this need.

If all else fails I suppose you could overnight the filled script to him . Is his viral load undetectable ? ... either way missing one day of meds isn't going to make a difference in the long run . Atripla has a long half life any way . Hope it all works out .

As Jeff rightly says, if your son is stable on treatment, missing one or two doses of Atripla, as a one-off, isn't going to be a disaster.
On a more general note, if it is at all possible, it may be worth his while getting into the habit of filling his script a couple of days early every month, so that he builds a reserve supply of pills to cover him in any such future situations, or indeed any other emergency.
