On the day of our memorial Service we would like to make up a list of name of friends/loved ones who have passed away due to HIV/AIDS.

Mark (Aztecan) has been asked to read the list for us, and has agreed to do this, Gary will organze some music to be played and we will have candles to be lite by those attending while the reading is being done...I can supply the candles if needed.

This is the way it's done on ANZAC Day and Rememberce day, and I think maybe at your Memorial day services also...I think it's a wonderful and respectful way of remembering our friends who have passed on.

You can use this thread to put forward names you would like read out or you can PM me, the choice is yours.

Look forward to seeing you all at the service.

I would like to submit the following following four names:

Mary
Jeff
Jeff Jr.
Amanda

For some goddamed reason, I cannot remember their last name. They were a family. Jeff Jr went first then Jeff, and Mary. Amanda didn't die of AIDS, rather she killed herself at the age of 12 due to have lost her entire family due to AIDS by the time she was 10. If that doesn't qualify her as a casualty of AIDS then nothing does. I can't stop crying as I type this and am surprised at how deeply it still hurts....

Maggie was her forum name - real name Bobbi.

It might be nice to also include Steve H. aka forum member "ConfidentIWillBeOK". Although he died in a sky-jumping accident, he was poz. He died doing something that he loved and I always admired him for not letting hiv stop him achieving his dreams.

Ann I was looking through the Memorial Forum and saw Steve's name and thought, I must remember to add him to the list, then of course forgot..thanks for reminding me, I met Steve and Adam in Boston, they were only recently infected and handling it so well, they said their diagnosis wasn't doing to stop them from doing the things they loved, a fine young couple.

No need to "keep your list short!'  We will have plenty of time to read all the names slowly and prayerfully.  I am working on a musical arrangement that will accompany the reading.  I hope there are hundreds of souls named out loud as it will truly be a memorable experience.  I will be sending my own lengthy list in very soon.  Thanks for the "editors" that will keep our list accurate and make the corrections as they are offered.

Good morning.  I feel horrible for excluding a name from my list.  Our dear friend that we brought into our home to care for in his final days and I excluded him?  How awful!

Our dear friend; RIP
