I know they have this stupid ban on Hivers, but I do love this country even though I chose not to live in there.  In fact, it is Paris' fault!  Before going to New York City to attend college in the early 80s, I came to Paris for a short visit and, oh God, that changed everything!

One thing that I always wanted to do is to cross the U.S.A. either by car or with the Greyhound bus.  Unfortunately, while living in there no one, I mean, not one friend of mine wanted to do that 'cause they thought it was too dangerous!
Well, most of them were foreigners just like me, and I suppose it was the truth back during the 80s.  Besides, we were all living in Manhattan...!

It would only be dangerous if the bus breaks down near a small Texas town.

Aside from that, why not take the train? It is a great way to travel.

I know exactly what you mean by teh "small Texas town", thank you very much!  But, jokes asides, wouldn't it be wonderful if there were such a thing as the French TGV in the U.S.?

Hey, David!

What do you mean "they are old?"  Has the U.S. cities' skylines changed that much?  Besides NYC, I cannot really say anything about that...even though NYC's skyline has not changed that much if we exlude The Twin Towers. 
Midtown, for example, is more or less the same i.e. like when I lived in there, with the construction of some highrises around 42nd Street and Times Square!

Take Denver! I recall well the skyline of the city because every year I'd go skiing in Copper Mountain, Vail and Aspen.  I've noticed just a couple of new buildings in these pictures!  Perhaps Eric can tell us more about that... Oh my God, don't tell me Denver has changed so much!

Today, there are only two places in the planet that every time I visit I am in absolute awe:  ""Chong Qing", in China; and, ""Dubai"", in The United Arab Emirates.
Regarding Chong Qing, there is always at least a new tower, a new supertall and a huge skycraper every time I go there.  It is simply incredible!

As for Dubai, I really don't know what to say 'cause it is even more impressing.  I usually make a stop over at Dubai on my way to the Maldives Islands.  Needless to say, it is always the same feeling of bewilderment.
