Title: If Not HIV then What!
Post by: paul gunn on December 23, 2007, 07:44:03 pm
I'm glad to have found this website. I'm so scared that I might have contracted HIV or and STD. Nonetheless, I had two (with myself being intoxicated) condom protected vaginal sex (with hispanic promiscuous girls) last month, and now the tip of penis is hurting with like a red sore at that tip. Also, I have a white coated tongue and really think I might have contracted HIV or an STD, perhaps Herpes or something. The thing that really concerns me is that both were condom, but when a person is drunk your guard is down and sometimes things slip by you. I feel confident that I was being safe. I also checked with both girls and they claim repeatedly to have no diseases (God, I hope so). I am not a promiscuous person, but deeply regret these two encounters. Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated. Why am I having this pain in my penis?

You had protected sex. You didn't have a risk, but to say the girls are promiscuous and not you, is a little hard to believe.

Rod,
Perhaps, I should have used prostitutes instead. I'm as guilty as them. I'm not saying I'm any better. Maybe I am being punished for my actions by GOD. The pain is quite irratating. I will have to see the Dr immediately.

Why would God punish you? You're doing a good enough job yourself. If you didn't read the first reply. YOU DIDN'T HAVE A RISK.

Whatever is going on has nothing to do with HIV. Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. Checking things out with your doctor is a good idea.

It's also sad to see you express prejudicial remarks such as a reference to "Hispanic promiscuous girls" or that you should have"used prostitutes instead." You talk about them as "things" for you to use which of course says more about you and your attitudes than it does about them. If you're old enough to be out having sex you are also old enough to learn more about being respectful of the people you have sex with. But then considering how you're busy attacking yoursel it sounds like you don't feel very good about yourself.

Lastly I will say that mixing excessive drinking and casual or impulsive sex is a dangerous combination. All too often I have seen it lead to unsafe sex and infection, so if that's a problem for you it's something to give serious consideration to.

What is this bash Paul day? Come on guys I am in no way trying to be disrespectful to anyone. I apologize for the wording I used to describe my situation. Do you suggest I get tested?

Did you see in any of the replies for you to test and that you had a risk? NO!!

Rod, I'm concerned about the pain I'm having at the tip of my penis. I'm probably the person who used a condom and still ended up with HIV or Herpes..geez! Thank You God.

If you are concerned about pain in your penis, go to doctor. Whatever is causing it has nothing to do with HIV.

Paul,

We take a very dim view of the line of thinking that says hiv and other illnesses are the work of a vengeful god. If you continue to insist on trotting this line out with every post you make, you will find yourself with a time out. Hiv is a virus, not a punishment from god. Please remember that if you want to continue to post here.

Saying that, you won't be able to post for too long over your no-risk for hiv incident anyway.

You didn't have a risk. If your penis hurts, you'll have to show it to a doctor. Whatever it is, it isn't hiv. Hiv does not cause pain in the genitals.

No, it is not "bash Paul day" here. I considered whether or not to say something about your wording and obviously opted in favor of speaking up. A great friend of mine told me long ago the greatest respect you can show to someone is to speak as best you can the truth as you see it. And I feel very strongly the issues related to your choice of words are worth thinking about even when you're stressed as you are now.

A pain or discomfort in your penis is NOT in any way an HIV symptom. It could be from any number of things ranging from passing a bladder stone to a urinal tract infection to many other things. We can't diagnose it here so you need to see your doctor and find out what's causing it. You used a condom for intercourse which is exactly what you're supposed to do. They provide very effective protection so no matter what your mind is scaring you with otherwise this is NOT and HIV situation. Period.

Paul

You are not listening are you?

1..you do NOT need to test...so why are you worring about testing.

2..You DO NOT HAVE HIV..this is an HIV forum, whatever is going on with your penis has nothing to do with us, talk to your Doctor, we can't help you with that.

I am listening, but I'm so confused about who or what to believe on the Internet. Sometimes, I wish the Internet never existed. Too much conficting information. I might have possibly contracted an STD, which further makes me think I might have contracted HIV as well, I don't know my mind is going crazy.

See your doctor if you are still having symptoms. This is NOT an HV situation so HIV is not causing any symptoms you may be having. You didn't do anything risky.

If you indulge in continuing to surf the net you are absolutely going to find more to be upset about. All with no sound basis in HIV of course. You need to kick the web habit now before it goes further and gets, inevitably, worse. Really.

You do not have HIV. Period. End of story.

Thanks for the encouraging words Andy. I think your right I need to lay off the Net for sometime and really gather myself. I hope the service you provide here continues to grow and educate the general public.

You're welcome.

Surfing the net is never the way to know what symptoms are about. That's what your doctor is for.

Cheers,

Are you guys sure that pain in the groin/penis area is not a HIV symptom?

Yes we're sure.

And Paul you're starting to be a bit of a pain in the groin yourself. We've explained this to you numerous times. Maybe you should review our posting guidelines, which you'll find in our Welcome Thread. (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0)

Have anyone of you guys heard of a website called Alive and Well? by Christine Maggiore..
Title: Re: If Not HIV then What!
Post by: Matty the Damned on January 20, 2008, 06:27:06 pm
Paul,

Christine Maggiore is a notorious AIDS denialist. AIDS denialists do not accept that HIV causes AIDS.

You should be aware that posting links to denialist websites or starting discussions about AIDS denialism in these forums is forbidden. It's a bannable offence.

I wouldn't pursue this issue any further here if I were you. There are plenty of other places on the net where you can discuss AIDS denialism.

Thank you for informing me further about Christine, I will not discuss her on this site anymore. And my next question is just for my own knowledge, and you do not have to answer if you like. How does this site feel about the theory of HIV=AIDS, and is it an automatic death sentence like I have heard before. What about Magic Johnson, Tommy Morrison and others who have survived 10, 15, even 20 years being HIV positive. I am in no way trying to stir any controversy just seeking the truth, and I really respect the moderators on this site. Thank You.

It's cool Paul. I'm sure your intentions were honourable. When in doubt about this stuff you should read the Terms of Membership (http://forums.poz.com/Terms.htm) which you agreed to when you applied to join.

Cool Thanks! But, what is your opinion?
Title: Re: If Not HIV then What!
Post by: Matty the Damned on January 20, 2008, 08:02:28 pm
There is no single opinion on the issue of AIDS == Death Sentence these days. HIV positive people are like any other group of people, we hold a diversity of views on any issue. Including this one.

Really the AMI forum is not the place to discuss this issue, but if you would like to read what some of the poz folks here think on these matters, try doing a Forums search for "Magic Johnson" or whatever.

Remember though, only HIV positive members can post replies in the poz only forums, so you won't be permitted to participate in those debates.

Didn't we JUST cover this in the posts directly above?

There's no set answer to that anymore.  And you don't need to worry about it anyway.  You're negative.

Paul,

If you'd read the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) like you're supposed to, you would have read the following:

Quote
Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned.

Ann,
I have read and undersand the welcome thread that is confirmed, however in my previos threads I had a negative mindset and it was quite obvious in my comments. I don't want HIV nor do I believe anyone deserves it either. My only concern is one of honesty and truth regarding information about HIV/transmission and actual risks. The abundance of information out there is so inconsistent that I find myself second guessing every response/thread. Perhaps, the only way for me to be 100% sure that your information is correct is to get tested and then decide who is wrong or right, but then again it's not about right or wrong, but rather who's honest.

Paul,

You can test all you like. However, there is nothing more we can do for you here and if you insist on continuing to post over your no-risk incident and wringing your hands about life expectancy, then you will be given a time out. It's that simple.

Hello,
Still having the issue with pain in the penis, but wanted to add that why don't you guys on this site promote abstinence over condom use? Alot of the threads I have been reading where people say they had condom protected sex, but where intoxicated don't really know what actually happened that night, right? I think abstinence should be promoted as well.

I'm giving you a TO of 28 days..you had already been warned about this.

Do not try to get round this by creating another user name, if you do you will permanently banned.
