I'm a recently divorced guy who has experimented with my sexuality. I have went on Craigslist and had a few experiences. Both times I received unprotected oral sex. I also have topped the guys. When I topped them I wore a condom that they provided me. I checked the condoms and never noticed any breakages. I did perform oral sex once but did not get cum in my mouth. Shortly after one of the experiences I developed a case of jock itch that was difficult to go away. I also developed a rash on my ankle. Do I need to test or does it sound like I'm being OCD Please advise

The risk factors for sexually transmitting HIV are from unprotected anal and vaginal sex .
Nothing you have mentioned has put you at risk for HIV .


Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you did not have a risk and do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I want to thank you for replying to my post. Your words are a big help. I've been sittin here thinking about what has caused my anxiety regarding my risk. I think one of the things that alarmed me was that I had a really bad case of jock itch soon after one of my experiences. I immediately thought it was some sort of ARS systems. I also learned that the internet can make anxiety worse. I have seen some forums where people have tested positive after having safe sex or giving oral sex. It caused me OCD and anxiety go into overdrive. Your works have helped me to put my experiences behind me and move on with my life.

Hey everyone. I posted earlier this year. I have pasted my old post alone. I apologize for creating a new thread. When I was going to post my new information, the system suggested for me to start new thread.

After being divorced, I have been concerned about some risks that I have had. My main risks has been performing oral sex and topping with a condom. The concern that I have is from an incident before Christmas. I went to a guy's house and topped him with a condom. When I pulled out, I had fecal matter all over my pubic hair. As I was cleaning up, a small ball of the fecal matter dropped on my shaft. Sorry to be graphic but I was concerned after the incident. About a week later, I had a scratchy throat and developed a small cold.

Other than this, my incident have always been protective anal sex as top and a few times giving and receiving oral sex unprotected. I freaked out about protected sex because I have seen some websites that have said that condoms are 80% effective. These websites can make you go crazy LOL. None of the times I gave oral did they cum in my mouth. Do I need to test over these incidents or am I being paranoid?

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in UNPROTECTED anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies. Once hiv finds itself outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect, this is why you didn’t have a risk cleaning up after sex . Condoms do fail but are designed to leave no doubt when they do and that failure rate is where the scary percentages come from . An intact condom means you did not have a risk for HIV .

There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.) These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex. Any kind of oral sex. These studies yielded NO infections.

Getting a blow job is not a risk, the theoretical risk for oral transmission occurs when you give a blow job to man with a high HIV viral load while you suffer significant wounds in your mouth . There has only been a few documented cases of oral transmission in 30 years and those cases or most of them had other risk factors so unless you have large bleeding wounds in your mouth oral is not a risk for HIV .
