Sleeping Man Killed by Falling Cow
« on: July 14, 2013, 05:07:02 pm »
I've often thought how ironic it would be to end up dying in some freak accident after all the effort I've put into maintaining a good CD-4 count and generally trying to take good care of myself.

This poor guy died in about the freakiest way imaginable.

I'm glad I didn't have a mouthful of a beverage when I read that. It would have been everyeffingwhere!!! ;D

I did lose it when I read the part where his mother said "I didn't bring my son up to be killed by a falling cow."

How do you bring your son up to not be killed by a falling cow? Teach him from a young age to check the roof for cows every night?

I feel for the family, I do. It's a very tragic story. But the mother's quote... it just struck me as hilarious .... I should go flagellate myself with a switch. :\

Just wondering; are Creationists/Intelligent Design folks eligible to win Darwin Awards?

Ann, I wonder if maybe her real meaning was lost in the translation.

Some time ago I had a coworker whose parents were Portuguese immigrants.  They didn't speak any English.  At one point I met them and I remember my friend had a terrible time translating.  Apparently Portuguese to English doesn't translate easily.

To win a Darwin, they have to die in a stupid manner like the guy who was filling a fuel tanker truck.  He needed to see the fuel level and didn't have a flashlight.  He lit a match and won a Darwin.   8)  Have the best day

I had this friend, a gay guy with HIV from a red neck beer drinking family and he was so proud his parents and his siblings would come to the gay bar with him.  They were proud of their gay son and brother but all complained the bar did not serve Coors beer.  One year on Valentines Day, his father did not come out to the gay with his gay son and the rest of the family.  His mother told me her husband threatened to kill himself so she outsmarted him and showed me the pistol in her purse.  The family continued to drink and complain the bar didn't serve Coors beer.  His Mother forgot the rifle in the hall closet and the father blew his brains out in their Downey home.

The following year... On Valentines Day my friend had moved into a room down the street and was all settled with his Marilyn Monroe memorabilia proudly displayed.  He was over the breakup with my closest friend, we went out looking for someone to help him with back taxes, I had some coffee, he had some beer and we parted with plans to catch up later.  My doorbell rang at 2:AM, I disconnected and went back to bed.  The next morning, there were 17 Sheriff Coroner cars outside.  My friend took an overdose surrounded by Marilyn Monroe.

The 2 suicide deaths were kept secret from my friends half brother who committed suicide the following Valentines Day.  This family does not qualify for the Darwin.  8) Have the best day

I wondered that too, once I caught my breath and dried my eyes. I felt terrible laughing so hard, but it just struck me as really, really funny.

Yes, I know what a Darwin Award is - I just wondered if people who don't believe in evolution are exempt from winning. ;D
