hi  Doc (POZ) & every one :

sorry for bothering you with this problem but i really missed a sleep over it

about 54 days ago, when i was in lobby of a hotel, i met a women in the same hotel, we had dinner and then it turn into a deep relation, we had sex only once using durex condom consistly and from the start to end , and didn't break 'luckly',next day i started thinking about this relation, is it safe,,, my concern was as follow:
1. i had a worn lips as i always bite them( as habbite) when i am concenterating in some thing , so i am concerned that this might be a point where the HIV might penetrat through while kissing (we had mouth kissing  but not as deep as  french kiss)
2. while removing the condom , i had an old cut that i had 6 days earlier, with hard skin that normally falls when it cures, so is this a point where the HIV might penetrat through ?

i expressed my concerns to her net day and she told me she is ok and she did HIV anti body test 4 months ago .
and she told me with  anger : you should see a  psychrist

i was very concerned and i did the following:

i  did the PCR(Polymerase chain reaction) test after 10 days, and the P24 combo(which contains both anti gen and the anti body test) after 10 days

then again i did the p24 combo after 24 days

was that enough  ?

I am still concerned and i seek your advice

 thanks

Zaman,

You didn't need to test as you had NO RISK. Kissing is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Saliva is not infectious. Hiv also cannot be transmitted through scabs. (scab is the word for "hard skin that normally falls when it cures") You did NOT have a risk in ANYTHING you brought to us.

You need to know that PCR testing is NOT approved for diagnostic purposes as it has a high rate of FALSE positive results. You're lucky you didn't get one of those.

You do NOT have hiv - you ARE hiv negative. You do not need further testing.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED FURTHER TESTING OVER THIS SPECIFIC INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Hi there
I was living in hotel and i called a massage at my room, the body -to-body one, we did not had any sexual relation, she was only rubbing her body againest mine while she was wearing the under ware, and we didnot do any sexual activity of any kind, but after she left, when i was bathing , i saw some thing like a boil or carbuncles in the loer part of my abdomen,
Q- is this can transfere the hiv to me?(i have rdden that HIV could transfer through wound an un healthy skin ).
Q- does any body fluid could pass through that?(i did not sea any but i started thinking that there might be one i donot know about , e.g brast milk, blood from non seen wond)
Q- do i need to do testing?

Q1. NO. Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus. It is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. For this reason, you are not going to be infected through skin-to-skin contact.

Q2. No. Again, hiv is NOT transmitted outside the body and certainly NOT through clothing.

Q3. NO. You do NOT need to test over this NO RISK massage.

Re-read your entire thread.

You have NOT had a risk and you do NOT need to test.

The ONLY confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. That's it.

And no, a boil on your abdomen is not a risk.

You need to stop worrying needlessly and get on with your life is my suggestion.

Zaman,

We are not doctors. We are people who have a lot of knowledge and first hand experience when it comes to hiv prevention.

And we're telling you that you have NOT had a risk for hiv infection. You did not have unprotected intercourse - which is the only proven sexual way to become infected.

If you cannot stop the "what iffs", then I suggest you see a therapist to find out why any remotely sexual contact sends you into a frenzy of hiv fear. We cannot help you with that here.

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection! If you did, believe me, we would tell you.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS NO RISK MASSAGE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

I would not speak for any other STD's you may or may not have - some of them are transmitted through much more casual contact than others. Syphilis, for example, has the three month testing window and can be spread from skin (chancre)  to skin.

But insofar as HIV is concerned, you have no risk. Whether or not you choose to risk other STDs by resuming unprotected sex with your wife is your concern, but no matter what, this is NOT an HIV situation.
"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

Zaman,

Re-read your entire thread instead of asking the same questions over and over again. You were already told on March 16th that hiv is not transmitted outside the body and why.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

Hi every one
Just a small question, if I may

My friend went to a barber shop today and he did shaving, the barber used a disposable raiser, but during the shaving he punctured some pimples and he wiped it with a USED TOWEL , is there any risk on this?

That's another non-risk scenario. HIV is not passed from environmental surfaces including towels, toilet seats, doorknobs, food, utensils, glasses, cans, handshakes or any number of other common occurences and objects.

You're still under a warning for a Time Out about coming here with non-risks when the real risks have already been thoroughly explained to you.

Ann , you are 100% right , but look at the incident of my freind (who does not has an account in poz)at the barber shop for example, we asked you be cause it was not a sexual incident and i aplogize for that.

(he went to the barber shop last week and barber was doing some shaving, then while shaving he punctured some pimpels and did small scratches on the skin (he made the skin irritated and reddish in color) with littel bet of blood.then he took towel and wiped it out , then when  my freind saw the towel, blood was there which made him in doubt , wether it was his blood or some body eleses blood.

so  in the worest case scenario, if the blood was from some one else, is that a risk)
