12 seconds from impact
« on: August 02, 2012, 09:32:32 am »
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/report-jets-avoid-midair-collision-dc-16910034

I was wondering why we were late boarding our US Airways flight and then delayed even further once boarding.  Glad I didn't know this was going on as a cab to Ohio would have been quite expensive.   :o

I saw that on ABC World News this afternoon and wondered if it affected anyone we know. Guess it did! I got delayed by stupid-ass weather and stupid-ass DCA. At least Southwest comped my cocktails! Made up for that stupid-ass couple that thought it was okay to travel with a child that is not old enough to discipline, and further, stupid-assedly thought it was okay to sign lullabies to him to try to get him to sleep after one of his SIX temper tantrums.

Gary was probably delayed also as we were both at the same gate waiting for our flights.  At least I got to spend additional time with one of the sweetest men in these forums.

We were delayed @ DCA on Monday Morning due to our flight had a broken-part, but the carrier booked everyone on another flight ( a direct flight to DENVER, we even got an upgrade in seating in row 2A)  ;)

After when we got to DENVER it started to rain w/ thunder & lighting, so we sat on the tarmac for about 45min. then we had to wait in-line and we were 10th in-line for take-off, so it took about an hour, we got back to ABQ an hour later from DENVER @ around 5:30 PM Mountain time.........another LONG DAY FOR US  ::)

I think that Bob & I were the only ones who attended AMG 2012 that were the farrest away then the rest of you all ,at least in USA

Good thing RAB wasn't on that flight, it wouldn't have been pretty.  The baby he yelled at in the hotel was actually not behaving that badly....lol

I'm surprised too.  I've been googling, try to find them.  If you come across any, please post them.

You have my expressed written permission to post any pictures of me.  Caveat; if any of them are from Saturday night, I'd like to see them first. ;D

I don't think I had any pictures of you.  My camera was messing up, and I lost about a dozen pictures somewhere.  I know I took them, but the camera didn't process them into the internal memory, or the SD card.  Have no idea where they went. Little bits of digital data somewhere !  :-\

The Capital, WH, and monuments don't look like they are that far apart--optical illusion.  So, we always make the mistake of thinking we can just walk to everything, and we always happen to be there in the heat of the summer.  D.C. is a big gay town, but we've never seen so many gay guys (many gay couples with kids) around the Nat'l Zoo.  My mom couldn't help but to stop every gay couple with kids and tell them what a great lookin family they are, and asking personal questions whether they adopted or one was the father.  She's wanting grandkids, and would tell my brother and me that we could do what all those guys did.  We finally told her we're so glad she is so pro-gay, but she can't stop every gay family she sees.

You guys consult with each other and post some pix.  I understand.  I hate when people tag me in photos on FB.  I end up untagging myself in most.

They announced the flight numbers involved in this mishap.  Guess who was on flight 3071?  I assumed I was delayed because of weather, kinda bothers me that it was not relayed to us what happend.
