Hi all,
I like others have made a terrible mistake not 2 long ago, about 3 weeks. I was visiting a strip club with a friend of mine. While there I received a fellatio from a Striper. I understand that there is virtauly no risk with fellatio, however I also went down on this woman. I have not seen or felt any bload or pimples, but I have a cavity in my mouth that periodically bleeds. Since then I have went to my Family doctor. She did an array of basi tests for herpes, and chlymadia. They were negative except for hsv-1, she also tested for HIV, which was also negative.
Since then she refered me to a specialist to do additional testing. I visited the specialist this past wednesday. She order a PCR-DNA test, which I should have results from arround the 20th. She looked at my throat and said it was red but no trash. I also have developed sore throat since then, which seems to be fading away now. I realize that I might be causing the sore throat myself since I keep constantly looking at it.
My question is what are the risks with cunnilingus and having a bleeding gum in mouth.

You didn't have a risk and there was no need for your doctor to order an expensive PCR-DNA test. They aren't even approved for diagnostic purposes as they have a high rate of false positives. The PCR-RNA test has recently been approved as a means to detect early hiv infection, but the guidelines state that it should only be used when there has been a serious risk of infection. A case like yours where there wasn't a risk is not a case where PCR testing should be used.
Please read through the Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) and the Transmission link so you can know what is and isn't a risk for hiv infection.
Here's what you need to know to keep yourself safe from hiv: You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.
Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.
While you do not need any further testing over this oral sex incident, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you for your quick reply. I wanted to ask an additional question, after reading the transmition lessons and get your opinion on it. In addition to what I described before, I have also used my finger inside her vagina. At one time she was very dry, so I have liked my fingers to lubricate. Does this change anything in what you have said before?

No, you still had no risk. Fingering is not a risk, nor is licking vaginal juices off your finger.

I just received my results from the DNA test. They were NEGATIVE, in addition to all other STD tests, and CBC counts which were normal. I still am being sent for testing at 6 weeks, 3 months and 6 months as per my doctors. I just wanted to share the news with you and solicit any feedback on the accuracy of the dna pcr test at 2 weeks. Given the information that all other std's were also negative. I heard that this test is prety accurate after 48 hours after expousure.

Considering you never had a risk in the first place, you are hiv negative and you do not need further testing. Even if you actually had a risk, which you didn't, you wouldn't need testing out to six months.
I can't believe a doctor is seriously telling you to test three more times over a bit of fingering and licking. She must like the colour of your money. Wonder what your insurance company would think about all these unnecessary tests? And people wonder why premiums are so damned high. PCR DNA tests aren't even approved for diagnostic purposes.

Doctors like that make it hard to get the true message of HIV across; namely you don't get it from casual contact. Testing for 6 months over this....give me strength...

Did that doctor get a medical degree off of Ebay? Either that is it or they are trying to drive up the revenue. All that testing is not warranted after this non-risk. That PCR-DNA test wasn't even properly utilized. I would strongly suggest you go to a doctor that actually has a background in infectious disease for a second opinion--that doctor would tell you that all this isn't even warranted.

Thank you for your replies. The dectory I went to is an infectious doctor. She said that the risk was low, but to put my mind at easy she ordered the test. Now, are you saying that fellatio with ejacultion combined with cunnilingus is low risk? I know that you have a lot of experince with these situations, but from a perspective of someone who just went through a large shock, possibilities are endless. The mind races and its difficult to think straight.
