i am proud to represent the strugglers i love.
lift high the rainbow. wear my boots on feet that
cannot feel them. i am proud to walk.

i am proud we stand in the same sunlight,
breathe the same air, drink the same water,
root the same dark earth, bleed the same red blood.

i am proud to arise and struggle to carve a livable life
to listen to the beats of our hearts that will never come again
proud to love you
