Hi there,
Just want to know if anyone here tried this shit....
My docs in Denmark have never heard about it - but luckily my dermatologist is clever and openminded.
Its normal in Asia - and I used to had some "fun" there - so everything makes sence now.
Any experiences from anyone on this forum ?
Kind regards,
Peter

Sorry Peter but what shit are you talking about having tried?
I am a bit lost.

Hi
Sorry if my english are bad, plz keep in mind its not my native language:)
What I would like to hear is:
Are there other people on this forum been diagnosed with a skindisease called
Ofuji ?
Is my question more clear now ?
Regards,
Peter

Unfortunately its new to me , what are the Docs saying about it ?

They say its an aids defing disease. It comes frome Japan, named after the island Ofuji.
It attacks mainly the face, and give the strange look Im having lately. Looks same very big and infected acne all over my face. Google images, and then u can see.
The first dermatologis just looked at me 3 secs, and said it was MC. These new dermatologist are specialist, but. I was surprised too hear. I can have this disease from Asia
Good news is, that its not dangerous, but its not an easy fix to get rid of it - but should beeasier than. MC.
Its a kind of fungus.
I will get answers from biopsy next week, and will get some treatment, and hopefully they can balance my big meds supply,so that I can take these too.
I will come back with info after next meeting - sounds like noone here have tried this..
Kind regards
Peter

Hey Peter - I am glad you found out what it really is. Dermatology is like an art sometimes. Some drs are much better than others. From what I read online it looks like its a combination of acne and a fungus all rolled into one.
Your English is excellent! I think you mixed a few people up though. You usually say that you have or had a disease or condition though. We try a new food or try a different restaurant. People don't usually say "that's an interesting rash - I think I will try it". Figured you wouldn't mind the pointer since everything else you write is so good. :)
Let us know how it turns out.

Yes Peter no problems reading the second post , and if you did it in Danish well Goggle translater would blow up.
Given that this is more common in one part off the world , there will presumably be treatment plans available for the Doc,s and you to look up. I once had to contact the Japanese embassy in London with a translation request, they where very helpful and gave me a web link with the article in English.
Where are you based?
All the best

Hi again,
Im located in a suburb north of Copenhagen. Very nice small coastal town.
I dont use Google Translate, I just write- and when Im writing in english, Im still thinking in danish, which I have to stop :)
I will give feedback, after visit to my docs thursday and friday.
Ofcourse, I hope its good news.....
Hugs

And so do we , your English is great I was meaning I would make goggle blow up as I have no Danish . Anyway as you see if we do not understand we will always ask. I have just speed read your Posts. I agree the medical progress has been amazing , when I tested Pos there where no drugs just some rumours about a drug called AZT , which I got on , but thats another story.

A little off-topic, but loosely related....
I find http://www.freetranslation.com/ to be pretty much the best online translator out there. In my experience, it's far better than Google, Yahoo or Babel-fish. I use it when I venture into Estoy Infectado on occasion, when Andy is off on his travels somewhere.
Provided I'm careful with my English spelling and grammar, the Spanish comes out quite good. I can put the Spanish text I get back through the translator (back into English) and it still makes sense, something that often doesn't happen when I use the same procedure with other translators I listed. This is what makes me trust it.
Peter, your English is quite good. Maybe I understand you easily because living on the Isle of Man, I'm surrounded by many people of Viking/Nordic/Danish decent. ;D
I'm glad you finally got a diagnosis for your skin trouble, and I hope it clears up now that you know what you're dealing with and can find a more appropriate treatment. Good luck!

Hello Peter,
I am not familiar with Ofuji skin disease, But I hope that soon your Dermatologist, will be able to get you started on the treatment, so you can be rid of this skin condition, and start feeling better.
From what I've read, there are several medications available to treat this, so let us know what you Dermatologist suggest to you, and how the treatment is working.
Take care of yourself----Ray

Here's the wiki about this. Seems to occur in HIV positive people with advanced disease with a low Tcell count. Appears as though once your immune system improves the skin condition should also.

Hi everybody,
Finally GOOD NEWS ;D
I was at dermatologist today, and they got the results back from biopsy.
There was only 1 bug in my skin, and it is Ofuji.(no Molluscum or anything else)
Doc already gave me some strong topical steroids, and tomorrow my HIV doc will see what antifungal meds they can balance, together with haart and TB meds.
So, Im very very happy.
Tomorrow I will also get my next cd4, hoping it will be better. The above mentioned meds for Ofuji I will have to take until i reach 250 in cd4.
Have a nice day everybody, and thx for listening to,me :)

Thx a lot Nicolaj,
Today I got my meds from hiv doc, its an nsaid named "Isomethadin" used against pain!
But due to internet, and lessons learned it really kills this Ofuji.
Hospital asked for my permit to tale pictures of my skin, Im their first case in DK, so finally after 50 years I became a supermodel LOL :)
Furthermore my creme also help, after only 24 hours of treatment 50% is gone :-)
Im so happy, was so afraid I would look like an ugly horse forever.
Hugs to everybody for reading, and sending me warm thoughts.
