a formal hello

Hello to all the lovely ladies here!  I've been a member for a little while now, but have wanted to wait to introduce myself here until I received my first set of labs.  Well I got them today.  They confirmed that I am positive... CD4 678 (yahoo!), VL 2280 (???) and 33.7%.  So, hello all!  I am 28, have 2 kids (a girl 2 1/2 and a boy 11 months) and I live in Iowa (the center of boredom).   

Anyway, I'm glad that there is a spot here just for women (my husband just doesn't understand certain things ... even if he is poz  ;) ).

I am also a long term survivor.  Was hit by a van in 1981 while crossing the street in Manhattan.  I found out on my own that I contracted hiv/hcv in 1986.  Taking HIV meds.  They have changed during the years my T count is around 200.  Are there any other woman that are coinfected?

Courage, while I'm not coinfected, I know some of the people on these forums are.  I encourage you to come here regularly and chat with the others.  Introduce yourself to us when you have time, you know, tell us about yourself.  I think it's important that we stick together-

I am married.  No children but have a dog.  I encourage other women that have HIV to be tested for Hep C.  According to my hep C doctor my liver will go before I reach any type of infection from HIV.  I currently take Atripla and Vitaplex.  The Vitaplex is through a prescription. 

I have one brother.  When I am down, his reply would be you are gifted because you are here another day.  I should treat each day as a gift.  It's hard sometimes but it does make sense.
