I see references to ASO sometimes, I googled it but I doubt it has anything to do with airline shopping or the atlanta symphony orchestra.
Maybe a little abbreviation dictionary could be created on aidsmeds too? ASO, PEP, ID doctor, HIPAA stuff like that ?

PEP + Post Exposure Prophylaxis (Taking a dose of meds, usually AZT, for 30 days when exposure is suspected within the past 72 hours. Lots of pros and cons on this).
ID doctor = Interdisciplinary doctor - as opposed to a general practitioner. (Usually infers the doc has additional training in dealing with infectious diseases.)
HIPPA = Health Insurance Portability Somethingorother Act. (This started out as a law that made COBRA possible, but turned into a labyrinth of regulations regarding privacy.)

Thanks aztecan I think a glossary on here may help people understand those abbreviations.

Good idea about the glossary - I'll make sure Mr Staley sees this thread.

Just to update, a Glossary is now in the works. We will announce when it goes online - but be patient as it is a fairly big undertaking and so may be some time in the doing.
