Medication help in Australia

Not sure that this fits in this category, but here goes:

I am a US Citizen currently in Australia, and have a few weeks supply left of my meds (Reyataz 300, Truvada, Norvir).  I no longer have private insurance in the States, and can't access the medicare system here yet (until the partner visa goes through- that will take a few months for my partner and I to raise the money).

My US doctor suggested I travel to Thailand or the UK to get my meds, but this is cost prohibitive.  Getting generics online, is also a cheaper option, but still cost prohibitive.  RAMPUSA isn't an option either.  They are unable to help.

Does anyone know how I am able to get medication shipped to me through some organisation that can help in this kind of situation?  I would only need a 2 months supply.

Try Canada.  You will need a Rx. 

My partner did this while trying to cover the so called 'donut hole' with his heart meds.  Have them overnight it.  You're in the same commonwealth, so it shouldn't violate any laws.  They don't really enforce them that tight, anyway. 

Oh, my partner is in.  He's looking up the pharmacy he used.  Try www.canadadrugs.com.

Hi Josh

While I can't help you on the medication front , perhaps I can give you some insight into Immigration issues.

I'm American and first came to Australia in 2003. My partner is Australian. It took me 4 years to receive my Permanent Residency Visa though I was able to access Medicare after a year and a half. I passed my citizenship test in April and will be eligible for Citizenship in Sept. will Citizenship itself taking a bit longer.

I just had to comment on your very last post and really nothing to do with your situation.  But I was in Australia in 2007 and traveled the Great Ocean Road.  What a beautiful scenic trip, especially the Twelve Apostles.  A trip I will never forget.

I hope you find some answers for your meds issue.  This is a great site and I'm sure someone will be able to help.

do candrugstore.com they get their meds from a good company in india called cipla. they supply the most hiv meds in the entire world. i get my generic combivir and viramune for 199 bucks a month!
