Cd4 VL and % ?
« on: September 30, 2013, 08:16:12 pm »
Forgive me if this has been asked, but I'm semi new to the game. I see people's stats showing CD4 - VL - %.

My doctor has given me my cd4 and VL results but I'm confused with the %. What exactly does that represent so I can ask at my appointment next week.

Thanks!

CD4% is a much better representation of immune system health (at least as far as I've heard/studied), as CD4s can fluctuate by 100 or more points a day - but the % is more stable of a measure.

Even when I have taken a few hundred point tumble in CD4s, my CD4% hasn't moved a significant amount.

Hope this helps - sure others will also chime in.

Thanks  phildinftlaudy! That's exactly what I needed.
I know my cd4 has gone from 209 >508 > 650 over the past 9 months but my doctor has never gone over the cd4 % with me.
Ill be sure to find this out next week when I go back after labs.
