Any difference between the norvir gel caps and the tablets
« on: July 14, 2010, 06:04:06 pm »
My boyfriend has been on Norvir, reyataz and truvada since May 17th and has been doing extremely well. He was getting his prescriptions from the local pharmacy and they always gave him the norvir gel caps. Well, he just started using his 3 month supply prescription program and when the pills came today, the norvir is the tablet form. Is there any difference? Will they cause any side effects he hasn't experienced from the gel caps? Hes happy because he hated having to refrigerate the gel caps and carry a cooler everytime we went out for the day. What I'm worried about is the fact that we are leaving for a weeks vacation tomorrow and I'm hoping this change won't cause him to feel sick in any way. Hes excited that he can just pack the medicine without worrying about keeping it refrigereated because we are going to be on a train for 18 hours. Thank you in advance for anyone who knows anything about this

RR,

The new Norvir tabs are just an improvement over the gel caps as they don't have to be refrigerated. They shouldn't cause him any trouble.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
