Okay, my partner is HIV+ and he came on my chest recently by accident. I wasn't afraid until I started coughing a few days ago. I am wondering if I am developing PCP pneumonia already? I read that there is a really high chance of dying from PCP and I don't want to die. I still have 6 days until my prelimary test results come back. What if I am superinfected with a strain of HIV that made me progess so quickly? Why am I coughing so much? Does this sound like AIDS?

I am so terrified. I called my lawyer to redo my will incase I die soon. I am meeting with him tonight. I am just terrified. I have 2 beautiful daughters from when I was married to a woman and I don't want them to grow up without a father because I died from AIDS.
My pastor warned me about the homosexual lifestyle. I swear to God if I am not infected with HIV I will never stick my penis in another guy again, protected or not. I don't want to die of AIDS and go to hell for being a homosexual.
I pray to God every night to please let me not be HIV+ and I promise I will get married to another woman and live a good life.

You need to calm down and quick. Ratchet the drama down a notch or two. Or three. Hiv is not sent by a vengeful god and neither is it transmitted through the skin. You weren't put at risk when your partner came on your chest.

As long as you two are using condoms for anal intercourse, correctly and consistently, you will avoid hiv infection. Read through the three condom and lube links in my signature line - think of it as a refresher course.

You did NOT have a risk when your partner came on your chest. NO RISK.

As for your cough, see your doctor. As long as you've been using condoms for intercourse, it won't be hiv causing it.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Different people are affected by the virus in differing ways.

The only way to know your status is to test. If you haven't been having unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse, then you can fully expect your result to be negative.

If you HAVE been having unprotected intercourse, then you need to test three months after the last unprotected incident for a conclusive result.

But, you will NOT have been infected through getting cum on your chest. No way, no how.

If you've been at risk, test. Simple as that.

You were not at risk in the cum on the chest incident.

I am going to go get my test results TOMMOROW actually. My doctor said I need to go in to get them. I am hysterical. This must mean that I am infected if he can't tell me over the phone.

Ann, I have not had unprotected sex even once. I am positive that I am going to be HIV+ from having this guy cum on my chest.

You simply do not get HIV from having a partner ejaculate on your chest. Having a partner with HIV, it is imperitive for both of your sakes that you understand this virus.

As far as the clinic goes, can you imagine the repercusions if EVERY positive test was delivered in person, and EVERY negative test was delivered over the phone?  They probably suspect the same as I do, that your anziety over HIV is fueled by a basic ignorance over HOW the pathogen works. I only hope that the educational experience which will hopefully ensue in the clinic is accurate, and useful.

HIV is NOT contagious. it is INFECTIOUS. Learning that difference can save your sanity. Though I suspect that your partner will, ultimately, benefit from this experience as much, if not far, far more than yourself.

Use condoms for penetrative sex. And try not to judge people, including yourself.

If you've never had unprotected intercourse, you're getting all hysterical for nothing. Many doctors insist on giving hiv test results in person, regardless of the result.

Getting cum on your chest is NOT a risk for hiv infection.

Ann- I don't want to give out my email address. But when I go to the forums front page at home, before logging in, it says "Sorry guest, you have been banned from posting in the forums". And it won't let me log in from home, but I am able to log in from work though.... wtf? My ex-partner lived with me, but I don't know if he had an account here or not. Do accounts get banned or IP addresses?
