Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Hiv test (Negative) after 8 months. Is it enough or get retest after 1 year?

I had sex with a call girl and used the condom too 8 months ago. Condom not broke. I sucked the nipples (no milk discharge was too) and then I felt some vaginal fluid was in my hand while I was opening the condom pack so I realized that and washed my hands with soap and put on the same condom . I had 12 HIV antibody test Which includes CMIA test, NAT, APTIMA ,  Determine test. The result of all the 12 tests were negative . The last test was after 8 months that was negative too. All the test were done  in Thailand in Anonymous Clinic. Right now my tongue looks white and to clear that I have to use the tooth paste and tooth brush everyday. My appetite is poor too ( I don,t feel hungry like 8 months ago) and my urine smell is weird. All these symptoms scare me and make me worried.  Have you heard any case in which the result changed after 8 months? Can I rely my test after 8 months ? How many more test do I need to feel confident and should I get retest after 1 year ?

You did not have a risk to begin with and your test are definitive , you do not have HIV .

You are conclusively HIV negative and your test results are not going to change . These are the risk factors for HIV  ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

Use condoms correctly and consistently for vaginal and anal sex and you will avoid HIV , its that simple .
