New to forums....Hello everyone
« on: January 23, 2007, 11:53:42 am »
I've been reading this forum for quite some time now and just decided to join in.  I have read a lot of interesting and informational topics here.

I was tested poz on 4/13/04.  I came out when I was 30 and spent a wonderful 6 years with my partner before he passed on 4/14/04.  It's been a roller coaster since then, but I'm making it so far.  I was on meds for a year (Sustiva & Combivir), but went off them due to severe fatigue.  I haven't been on meds since.  I just received my labs and my cd4 were 265 and vl 42k.  I guess not bad for being off meds for a year now.  My doc says that I should go back on them soon.

Hello and welcome to our lovely community.  I am sure you will find this site is very informational, helpful and also loving and accepting of lots of different opinions.  This site will be what you make of it.  It can be dysfunctional and frustrating at times but mostly its warm and inviting.

Feel free to post as much or as little as you like about yourself at the time you feel it is appropriate.  I personally have put my entire life on this site and it has yet to bite back.  I consider this place a second family to me and love being here and sharing what I can with those I can.

Anyway…. Welcome, you have received my canned greeting deeming you WORTHY of further communication!!!

Andrew

With your CD4's getting low it is definitely time to start thinking about meds.  Lots of people on here can give you some ideas as to other meds.  I had severe fatigue as well on those and then started to take them in the morning and that has made a BIG difference.  I think with the vivid dreams I was having I couldnt get the REALLY deep sleep I needed.  I thought they may be interfering with my REM, but thats just this douchebags opinion and shouldnt be taken as science!
LIFE is not a race to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well-preserved body, but, rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW! WHAT A
RIDE!!!

Welcome, Fred.  That makes two new faces I have found today. :)  Fred, if you feel so inclined, let us know where you are state or countrywise because it sometimes makes it easier for us to refer or nudge people in your direction who would have an answer.  Best, Win

Welcome.  I guess I never did the "hi, I'm puck" thing.  But welcome.  I think most of the people here are pretty cool.... and the cool thing about this board is that the moderators actually seem to know what they're doing and know what they're talking about.  I have yet to see a flame war or anything like that.   I hope you find a sense of community here.  :-)

As you have already heard several times, Hello Fred and welcome to the forums!  Since you have been reading the forums for a while you are probably already familiar with some of what goes on here.  I'm glad you finally decided to make yourself a visible part of our community.  As others have mentioned, I"m looking forward to hearing more from you.   Sorry to hear about the meds issue.  Hopefully you and your doc can resolve that.   Best of luck!

Welcome, Fred.

Your partner passing the day afer you received your HIV diagnosis has got to have been a rough time. Very glad that you have found a way to have your voice heard at this rather large, virtual dinner table with extended family!
