Few Question Regarding Transmission..
« on: May 01, 2010, 08:59:17 am »
Hi Andy,Ann,Matty,Rapid and others,

I have following exposures of hiv. Can u please assess my risk ..

1.I shook hand with some one yesterday. After that I saw some blood on my hand. It might have come his cut. I was also having some cut(fresh but not bleeding). What is the risk for HIV ?

2. I was playing in a ground. Suddenly I felt something poked in my foot. Then I saw it was discarded needle . What is the risk for HIV ?

Neither of the incidents you are concerned about were risks for HIV transmission.

You do need to become better educated about HIV transmission. Read our lesson about it and you will get all of the basics there. There is a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section.

Right now you are worrying needlessly and there is no need for testing.

1. If his blood get into my blood while shaking hand, then ?

2. If the needle had contaminated blood on it , then ?

As Andy says, you were not at risk. You do not need to be tested for HIV.

And if my boot get into your ass?

I've already answered your question. As has Andy. We have no intention of doing so again.

You were not at risk. You do not need to be tested.

Do not ask about this non-risk situation again. If you do you will be banned from the Forums for 28 days.

If  you continue to search the web to find material to feed your worst fears then I can promise you will find it. All to no good purpose of course. You didn't have a risk. Period.

We're very careful in our evaluation of each person's situation. You don't have to believe us but there really isn't anything more we can say about what you have presented.

As Matty has indicated, if you continue to return with more what ifs about a non-risk situation, you will very quickly find yourself getting a Time Out for 28 days.

Stop the drama and get on with your life.

Your anxieties notwithstanding, you did not have a risk. If you can't let go of this unwarranted concern then waste some money and get tested so you can collect the inevitable negative result.

Getting married can be an exciting time. It also not infrequently fraught with anxiety and fears and perhaps that is playing some part in your current concerns. For sure you can't give your wife-to-be a virus you don't have.

This is NOT an HIV situation. Period. Get on with your llife.

Hi Andy,

Just wanted to know that which type of cells are infected by HIV ? is it DC(dendritic cell) ? If so then DC are also available in any cut...as it is the cells of skin...so  why cuts are not risk ?

   Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Ganga, you're still searching around to find some justification to feed your fears. You're making your situation way more complicated than it needs to be.

You did not have a risk. And as long as you consistently use condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse in the course of living a normal life, you will not have any problem about HIV.

You are worrying needlessly. If you haven't already done so, read our lesson on Transmission. There's a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section.

And I am going to warn you that if you continue to come back with these unjustified concerns you will find yourself getting a 28 day Time Out. Consider yourself warned.

Hi Andy,

Thanks man...I will never come back..Probably I was behaving like a mad without knowing anything..I am not at all sexually active..So sexual transmission was not at all my problem...Iwas just concerned about blood exposures that happen day by day......don't know what to do..move on? How ? if  I get infected ? If I become the first in this universe to be infected by blood exposure? These thing are eating me......that is all..

A better term would be "exchange of bodily fluids" as in when the penis ejaculates in the vagina. Or the unlikely circumstance of someone's HIV+ blood pouring into an open wound of someone else.

And just to insure that was your last question for a while I am giving you that Time Out you have been warned about. It's for 28 days. Don't make the mistake of trying to get around it by creating a new name. We will spot that right off and it will get you permanently banned from the site.

Get on with your life.
