Or not.   ;D

Well, it's Presidents Day... so I thought I'd ask everyone who your favorite President is.

We all know who pretty much everyone's least favorite is.... so it would be really boring to rehash that.

But my favorite is JFK.  Not so much because of him, but because of his wife.  Jackie O was the best first lady ever.  If not for her, women would still be dressing like June Cleaver.

Aupoint,

And for us as well, we have a lot to be thankful for him. I am still laughing at his "pirouette" while the Queen was visiting.

"Just watch me" brings back so much memories and I am afraid it wasn't all that good; a dark moment of our history.

No, the October Crisis was a horrible time... but he had balls.  From what I've read, I think he handled it extremely well.

I love what he said when Nixon called him an asshole.  "I've been called worse things by better people."

Balls he had for sure and a big mouth. Of course your Government at the time was angry that he befriended Castro.

Inarguably Calvin Coolidge.

Without him Dorothy Parker would not have asked "How could they tell?" when informed he had died.

Castro has a nifty beard.  And I really don't care too much what the US government gets its panties in a wad over...

I'd make friends with Castro, just to piss them off.

And indeed, perhaps Americans will just grow up and accept same-sex marriage, as citizens of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Canada have. The nation can handle this: we’ve already had an apparently gay president (James Buchanan, look it up); a cross-dressing vice president (William King, served with Franklin Pierce); and a cross-dressing FBI director (J. Edgar Hoover).

Bush?

Just cause it has been SOOOOOOOOOOO Easy to tee off on him and the republican right.  It's like we are playing softball!  Oh wait we're dealing with Bush, more like T-BALL.  Dont need to get too complicated.

For me it's Teddy Roosevelt.
I love history.

Least favorite isn't Georgie to be honest.  It's Jackson... whom I think was overrated and dangerous at the time, and is still overrated.

Really?  I love history, too... but I do get your point about Andrew Jackson.  Ripping apart the BUS perhaps wasn't the best idea for him to come up with.

Wasn't he also the first president to veto bills based on his dislike of them rather than their constitutionality?

His whole vendetta against the BUS was essentially personal, because someone insulted his wife.  This is not the way to run a country.  Well, unless your daddy's peepee was proven to be smaller than some worthless autocrat, but that's different.

His wife died before he could take office... allegedly of a broken heart because of what had been said about her.

But that's more than likely 19th century romanticism.

Chances are she died of something cardiovascular.

FDR...because of Eleanor.  That lady knew what needed to be done and how to do it.

Polk and Jackson were cut from the same cloth.  It was Jackson who had the Trail of Tears and Polk who went ahead with the Manifest Destiny with The Army of the West.

Happy President's day.
