Poz Houston is doing a Cruise - Jan 2010
« on: July 06, 2009, 07:41:07 pm »
Poz Houston is a social support network for HIV+ Gay Men who live in Houston, Texas.

We are doing a group cruise January 24th-31st on Royal Carribbean's Voyager of the Seas, departing from Galveston, Texas.

You can view the flyer at www.pozhouston.org

You don't necessarily have to be poz, gay, or from our area if you would like to participate.  All we ask is that you understand our focus is on gay poz men.  For the cruise, the group is a resource to help you find others with common interests for shows, chats, excursions, and dinner company.

While the weather in the US is generally nasty in January, the weather in Mexico and Honduras couldn't be better.  Typically the weather in Texas is rainy, cold, and windy.  About 2 hours sailing from Galveston the weather is typically 80 degrees and sunny.  It's an excellent time of year to vacation and a cruise is an inexpensive way to travel in comfort.

Best Regards,
-Brian

Hi Brian,

I'm poz, I'm gay and as usual, I'm broke but Mexico in January is something dreams are made from.  I found a club in the San Francisco bay area called Barbary Coast Boating Club.  It is for people mostly gay and lesbian but straight folks can play too.  They have sailboat members, power boat members and some jet skiis.  They have a tie up where a bunch of boats tie together for the night and party.  A good time is presumably had by all in attendence.   ;D  Have the best day

I've thought about doing something similar here in Houston.  I tried to get it going under the moniker of QSail.  It was invaded by some Transgendered folks and I found them to be rather annoying.

We have another gay sailing group on the San Francisco Bay.  They were practicing for the Gay Games and were or are very serious about competition.  The Barbary Coast group is fun and casual.  Their website is www.bcbc.net   ;D  Have the best day
