I hope I am eligible to write here. I have another posting in the First board. Just writing here to take my mind off my concern.

I always wanted to see how people react if they find dollar bills on the street. Say, if I drop a $5 bill, how long do you think it will stay? Is there any difference in behavior that i can expect based on the location of the incident (big city vs small town i mean).

Strange question I agree, but this is an off-topic board, right?

If I saw who dropped it, I would return it. If I could not ascertain who dropped it, I would still pick it up.

ps- i bet there would be a difference based on localtion. if you live in the sticks, you most likely know (or are even related to) the person who just dropped the bill. you would therefore return it, or else you would be the talk of the after-service lunch set at the Golden Corral on Sunday

I found a tenner (=US$20) in Manchester city centre the other week. Chris (ManchesterUK) can verify how quickly I scooped it up, pocketed it and spent it!

If you are like me Thunter, if you show up at the Golden Corral they'll know you found it. That would be the only way I could eat there on Sunday.

Now let's say you see someone with money sticking out of their pocket and accidentally bump into them....say over a subway stairway, and they just happen ro fall and lose the contents of their pockets....and you m uh,,,,retrieved them

Maybe it's a guy thing... Once I was in the supermarket checkout line and another person in line said, "Excuse me, did you drop that money?" Of course I did, fifty bucks fits in my wallet quite nicely. Have the best day

Ok, soo the question was if a female or male would pick up money. You can do the math yourself according to the responses in this thread. I don't think it's a matter of which sex would, it's obvious that both sexes would. Now for making me answer such a silly question, put $5 in my tip jar....

Once in NYC I saw a 20 dollar bill on the ground. I picked it up...it looked so real, but I turned it over and it was an ad for an adult gentlemens club in the area. I must admit, it was creative advertising and there were many of those fake 20's strewn on the streets.
