Johnny
« on: August 06, 2006, 11:53:53 am »
I wanted to introduce Johnny to everyone..  Johnny is our rescue dog who rounds out our little family.  William, Eric & Johnny.  He knows when something is wrong.  He knows when we are going to work.  He can go without messing up the house and is ever so polite.  He is finally coming out of his shell from who ever abused him the first 2 years of his life...  And gosh, I wont have to send Johnny to College either!

awwww....good boy!
both of you!
Bob's a rescue, too, as was my mini-doxie (she passed away last year).
There's something extra-special about the rescue pups, and before you know it, you forget who rescued who(m).

What a pooch! Just very briefly, if it's not a pain: I'd like to know where he sleeps; whether he cringes at sudden movements; if he barks happily when you and Wlll are being playful with each other and with him; if he takes you on a walk or if you take him on a walk; etc.  :) Jay (who's pretty susceptible, unfortunately, to animal photos).
Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

Johnny was probably the best thing we ever did as a couple.  As I can see with all the pupplies, kitties, lizards, snakes, mice, that sharing our lives with these makes a big difference.   Its really amazing as I watch William treat Johnny not like a pet but a human being.  Constant contact,  love, scritches and long walks along the river banks..  Will comes up to me all the time and tells me "what Johnny did today".   How important it was that we adopted him 2 + years ago now...  I know he has taken alot of focus off of HIV and has grounded both of us...  Johnny continually gets better about not being afraid of other humans and actually is now approaching others.  I hope he can overcome his fears just as I am working to overcome mine with HIV...  I think he is making faster progress than me to be quite frank about it.  So,  I am learning just as much from this little guy "who's not very big"..

Oh you guys!!  Funny thing is, William will read this, and cry and cry and cry...  Thats sort of fun to get him to cry cause he is so dang happy even in "this scheme of things."   Everyone has their "babies" even if they don't fit the dictionary as being "human".  I will even go further and say our pets are more human than some of the poeple I have met in my short time on this planet..

Isn't he just the cutest thing! The new picture of the three of you is a great picture!! Both of our dogs are rescues from local shelters. We've been looking for a 3rd but he/she needs to be the right match for our family. We called about a weinreymer last night but it had already been adopted. We'll keep looking.  Cograts to you for finding Johnny and congrats to Johnny for finding 2 great dads :)
