We think it is a piece of AIDS denialism  -- based on outdated and repeatedly disproven theories that nevertheless circulate on the web.

Just last year one of our members died from not taking his drugs as a result of this type of propaganda. Don't fall for it.

Its really a piece of shit documentary.  They identify some problems  with HIV testing (mainly from uneducated practitioners and an uneducated public in Africa) and then use it as "proof" to promote a denialism agenda.  Its garbage.  Do your own research, you will pretty quickly come to the same conclusion.

Lugzsoo

I hope you open a new thread and talk some more about how its going for you personally.  You joined this thread and have such dramatic recent stories to tell!

As for denialism - nobody here has any patience for this dangerous thinking.

You can read more on http://www.aidstruth.org/

If you have a different language, tell me and I will try to find a website in your language.

So many many many people died because of myths about AIDS.

HIV is a retrovirus. It eventually kills almost everyone it infects.

HIV is not a conspiracy. Not a moral lesson.  Not a weapon.  Not a sin.  Not evil.  Not harmless.

It is a tiny little deadly virus.  Anyone can get it, anywhere in the world, by contact that allows it to pass from one person to another.

There is no mystery.

Also, these days, the treatment of HIV/AIDS is not a mystery.  Real doctors in any country know the facts about HIV/AIDS and how it is treated.

Lugzsoo, you need to understand that the reason the URL you linked to is blocked is because links to denialist websites are expressly forbidden on this website. It can be grounds for a permanent ban from these forums. I have deleted your second post where you named the documentary but said nothing else. Yes, that's how seriously we take denialist crap on this website.

I understand that you made an innocent mistake, but I needed to let you know so you don't make the mistake again and get yourself banned.

Hiv denialists are dangerous people and are responsible for the unnecessary deaths of thousands.

If you want to learn more about why denialists are so dangerous and how the dogma they preach is just plain WRONG, please read the AIDS Truth website.

Thank you for your cooperation in not posting anything to do with denialists here again. :)

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Luszsoo,

It really is a dangerous documentary cleverly designed to push an evil agenda. It has the potential of killing uninformed desperate people who are looking to cling to hope, any sort of hope, by planting in their unsuspecting mind, an inherently flawed and FALSE 'belief system' over 'scientific fact'.

You should also know that Christine Maggiore, the HIV denialist who they interviewed extensively through the course of that documentary, died of AIDS in 2008.

Do not buy it.

No, it isn't. Off Topic is for things that have nothing to do with hiv.

In all honesty, there is no appropriate place for anything to do with hiv denialism on these forums. Except, perhaps, a thread that refutes their dangerous propaganda.

Anyway, I'm locking this thread so it sinks into the archives. I'd delete it, but I'm not sure if Lugzsoo has seen my warning yet.
