Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

will i catch hiv if..i stimulated a lady's vagina with my finger ..but after i stimulated her vagina i took a condom out my pocket and put on my penis..will the fluids from my finger stay on the condom and infect me..the condom didnt break or slipped off..can hiv be transmitted that way and why? suppose i had an hair bump near to my scrotum will the hiv fluids from the woman seep through my hair bump

That type of activity doesn't carry any risk for transmission. Start by reading the lessons section and you'll learn how HIV is actually transmitted.

Fingering is not a risk for HIV transmission. Nor is mutual masturbation, cunnilingus, frottage (rubbing) and any number of non-penetrating activities.

What's most important is that you wore a condom for intercourse. They provide very effective protection. And no, HIV doesn't "sneak" into and down the condom to get to your urethra.

As 411 suggested, read the lesson on transmission. Doing that should ease your mind about unnecessary concerns.

there was blood

llast night i was having sex with my girlfriend..i used a condom ..after we were finishes ..i realize that there was blood on my condom and my shirt...and my fingers ..i quickly went to the bathroom and wash myself off with soap...there was blood on my condom and on my torso area..whats my risk for contracting hiv..am i at risk..i checked to see if cuts or open wounds were there but fouind non..should i test ot should i leave this incident alone

Now, as far as this latest concern, the important thing is that you used a condom for intercourse. Way to go! Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. The fact that you had blood on anywhere on yourself and the condom is totally irrelevant. That's not how HIV gets passed. It's having your penis covered that matters. Anything else is only theoretically risky in some cases, but in the real world of HIV we know that it doesn't happen that way.

Relax and keep using a condom everytime. They'll do the job for you.

So what you are saying is that your penis was too small for the condom? Look at Ann's links on condoms and find a condom that will fit you properly. You were not at risk because the head of your penis was protected. Nothing gets sucked up the inside of the condom.

As long as the head of your penis was covered you were protected. There can be blood all around ON the condom and on your groin and  wherever else. Doesn't matter. It may look scary to you but it's not a risk.

Sometimes I think if guys had a monthly period they wouldn't get so panicky when they see blood. But they don't have periods so they do tend to get panicky.

You are worrying needlessly. Really.
